The amazing thing about that quote is it follows Eaves saying he didn't see the play himself. He's judging it based on how sheepish the referee might have been feeling, and a comment from some assistant about how it went down. Then he pulls this beauty out. Not a good lesson to teach his young players about responsibility.
I always thought Eaves was a classy guy. The reporter must have caught him at a really bad time. I thought the refs were pretty evenhanded throughout the game, they let the WI skaters get away with some cheap hacks after the whistle earlier on... not a big deal.
If I was a WI fan, I'd be wishing for a different outcome too. It just really feels good to be on this side of all the whining for one day.

About sums it up for me. A marginal call maybe, but Wisconsin not really in a position to complain.

as for the call at the end put me in the camp it was a good call (there was no close-up on that replay so I have no idea where the puck was, plus I didn't see enough to warrant calling the tech guy w/intent to interfere). I mean for effs sake if UW played better they wouldn't be in a position where they'd lose 2-1 on a marginal no-call anyway.

if they don't play better tomorrow I may just start believing those 8th place projections are correct.

This is one of the few years where I actually believe the pre-season predictions. No established goaltending and no established scoring. I know they are capable of playing better, but how much?

MTU: I know a win for you over the Badgers is huge, but it's not like you beat a top-of-the-standings team.

every win is huge for us. it happens so rarely.

Why do some of the Tech fans mock themselves?

Mel is a winner, he will do everything he can
To produce a winner. I guess it will take awhile to
Have the the fans that continuously mock the program stop.

It's not mockery. Me & huskyfan are perpetuating the sandbagging that led to a W yesterday after we "predicted" Tech would get swept. Hey, it works. :)

its not mockery. its 100% tried tested and proved. we don't even change our underwear after a win! :)

I'm trying to figure out how this happened. Denver, Rats and Nodak always lose guys early but you don't see a dip, not generally. I know it's early but it appears all the teams ahead of UW that lost players early are still kicking ***, and now the rats are back as well.

It is amazing what a TOP COACH can do to turn around a program. Congrats to Michigan Tech and Mel!

congrats tech. I've always hoped MTU could somehow return to glory and it appears Mel Pearson has them on the right track. 1-2 more recruiting classes and who knows they could be contending for a league top 3
