I just hope you guys don't pull another SCSU this year and lose in the first round of the NCAA's. DU needs to go deep so they can smoke the drunkin Sconi's....I think DU is the best team and all, but you seem to take nights off. I would say take out ND in the NCAA's too, but with the way they are playing it doesn't look like they will make it. Unless INCH gets to set the field.

Do Denver fans do this now too? I don't think the WCHA needs ANOTHER paint thinner drinking fanbase. We already have Sconni and St, Clooud...though paint thinner might make dg's blog funnier. :D

Miami has worked hard for their number 1 ranking this year. Denver fan dude has been giving us an unimpressive list of close wins or losses to not so good teams, so how does DU deserve to be #1? Miami has the best record in the NCAA right now, with the number 1 goalie and a very well-rounded team.

You're still #2, you going to get a top seed in the tourney if you keep on the right track. DU had the chance to take the top spot when Miami was swept by Robert Morris, and what happened? You couldn't handle the pressure of holding the top spot for a week when DU lost the next weekend.

#2 is still great. Don't cry over unspilt milk.

MOH is the top team in the country, for now. You never know where teams will stand come conference tournament time and selection Sunday.

I think DU knocked off MOH 3-2 in the round of 16 back in 2004 down in Colorado Springs. And if I'm not mistaken, all three of the Pios goals were scored by d-man :eek:

Before that, DU destroyed MOH 6-0 during the 02-03 Denver Cup. :D

Nah they probably don't but this guy sounds as if he had just spent some quality time with a bottle or two of there finest stuff.

DU beat Miami in the 2004 NCAA Tournament 3-2. DU also defeated Miami in the 2002 Denver Cup 6-0.

I believe the "last five years" were brought up. As RHFan10 pointed out, the only results relevant to that time frame (let's go ahead and count all the way back to 04-05) would be,

10/6/2006: Miami beats Denver 5-2
3/27/2009: Miami beats Denver 4-2

Miami's record since 04-05: 143-66-25
Denver's record since 04-05: 143-71-19

That gives us win percentages of .664 (Miami) and .654 (Denver) since 04-05.

In 04-05, Denver's record was 32-9-2, while Miami's record was 15-18-5. Despite Denver's very impressive record and Miami's clearly dismal record that season, Miami still has a greater win% overall since 04-05.

If we were to disregard that season and begin with 05-06 (as the current regular season is largely complete), the numbers would be...

Miami: 128-48-20 (.704)
Denver: 111-62-17 (.628)

Regardless, it's not about the past 5 years :p ... It's about this year.

The 2009-10 season (to date):
Miami is 22-4-6 (.781) & Denver is 20-6-4 (.733).
Against common opponents, Miami is 4-0-1 (.900) & Denver is 6-2-0 (.750).

Why are the Miami University RedHawks currently #1 in the nation, above the #2 Denver University Pioneers, in both the national rankings and the PairWise? "Denver Murph SUNY Osw 79," you are the only one confused.
