Re: 0 Days Since Last Shooting: But the Second Amendment!

Today's fact that ammosexuals and their allies will ignore:

More people have been killed in school shootings since Sandy Hook than American soldiers since 9/11.

The really sad thing is, after 9/11, which killed ~3200, we eagerly gave away a bunch of our Constitutional freedoms so we could feel safe. Not be safe, but to feel safe.

But there's nothing we can do about guns.

Sure we can. Repeat. Give away more freedoms. Right?

Re: 0 Days Since Last Shooting: But the Second Amendment!

But why are people walking into schools and other places and committing mass murder?

Answer that question and you'll go a long way to ending the senseless killings.

Cause they can?

Gee, we could probably fund some studies to get the answer to that, except...Republicans.

We have as large a mental health crisis in this country as any you can come up with. It might be #1.

It exposes itself as the opioid crisis, mass shootings, homeless, how we (ware)house our elderly, and other inglorious ways.

I have a family member right now who needs help. Appointments with neuropsychs and psychiatrists are scheduled; they can refuse to go. They behave erratically on public record and it matters not. Their GP can recommend they don't drive but we can't take their vehicle until the medical community does more than "recommend" (meaning does the paperwork). Heck, they can be found running around outside in the night delusional, screaming and claiming they are being chased by snakes and lizards. Not enough. The system is rigged, to my eyes, that something bad must happen before anything can be done.

Gee, we could probably fund some programs to get support for people who need it, except...Republicans.

republicans won't let the doctors at the CDC fully investigate gun violence. republicans won't let pediatricians inquire as to the firearm situations in the homes of the newborn babies in their care. republicans do want to force doctors to show pictures of fetuses to women considering abortion. republicans are nothing but hypocritical pieces of 5h!t.

And the left (correctly) fought against surrendering all of those freedoms. Why are they so eager to surrender freedom now? It says a lot that gun control ideas poll much better than they do at the ballot box.

Re: 0 Days Since Last Shooting: But the Second Amendment!

Why can't we spend more resources on helping the mentally ill while at the same time working on gun policies that might also make it more difficult for these events to take place? It should be both and yet as of now it's neither. Take half the military budget spent outside our borders and start funding better access to mental health care among other badly needed projects such as improved infrastructure,....

Suggested this approach a couple pages back to no response.

He's confessed and thus has no remaining options. The 'bullied' defense works as well for him as anything. I don't think you'll find it in the law books, but 'I was bullied' plays wonderfully into the Trump narrative for the purpose of avoiding gun control.

"My friends from the football team told me that coaches said he smelled, like, right in front of his face.

Oh, that's horrible. "You stink, take a shower". Tragic.
