That is the rub.
At the very least, the PWHL has shown that there is a market for professional women’s hockey. What the value of that market does remain to be seen.

Give it 20 years. Either it grows and the fans feed into the sport and it grows some more (college basketball after 1979) or the novelty wears off and the world catches up with the US women and it dies.
