Give it 20 years. Either it grows and the fans feed into the sport and it grows some more (college basketball after 1979) or the novelty wears off and the world catches up with the US women and it dies.

The average total cost for a family of four to attend a WNBA game is $331.11.

Posting for comparison. I do not know how people can afford it.
 
Apparently, Philly was interested in Larkin, but he doesn't want to go there. And from what I've gathered, his trade list is Vegas, Minnesota, and maybe one other team.
 
I like it in theory:

The Western Hockey League is testing a new "no return" rule for 3-on-3 overtime during the 2026 preseason, as reported by Globalnews.ca.

How the "No Return" Rule Works

As detailed in the Reddit Discussion on the WHL Pilot, the experimental format changes how teams handle the puck in the extra period:
    • Zone Entry: Once an attacking team crosses the blue line into the offensive zone, they must stay inside.
    • No Retreat: Players cannot deliberately carry, pass, or shoot the puck back across the blue line into neutral ice.
    • The Penalty: If a team intentionally takes the puck out of the zone, the referee whistles the play dead.
    • Faceoff Location: The ensuing faceoff goes back to the offending team's defensive zone.
    • No Substitutions: Teams cannot make line changes during this stoppage.

Purpose and Next Steps
    • Stalling Prevention: The league wants to stop teams from backing out to regroup when they do not see an immediate shot.
    • More Action: The rule forces teams to attack and shoot, aiming to make 3-on-3 overtime faster and more exciting for fans.
    • Regular Season Vote: League general managers will review the preseason test and vote on whether to use the rule for regular-season games.
 
In theory, it's a great idea. I'm curious if there's a loophole coaches will find, like an "accidentally" bad pass that just happens to leave the zone
 
Fun rumor that I've heard - Chris Ilitch's divorce is motivating him to avoid spending on the Wings and the Tigers, to devalue them as much as possible and avoid paying more to his soon-to-be ex-wife.

I'll believe it when the divorce is finalized and he opens the checkbook. Until then, he's 'Little Budget Caesar'.

Yeah, but it's not the same thing. He wants to tank the team so his wife doesn't get more money? Why? She's going to get rich anyway. Why blow up his life for spite? It's dumb and unhealthy.

Perhaps the only thing I'll give Bezos credit for -- when his wife divorced him (because he was cheating on her, I believe with her friend), he didn't make a deal out of it whatsoever. He gave her half their wealth, and that was that.

Yeah, their separation was surprisingly quick. But he's always been a quiet guy who avoids personal press.
