The Dead Thread 2024

Can't understand why, cause I never found Dilbert the least bit funny.

Now Get Fuzzy or Pearls Before Swine.......
Yeah, I never really understood the hype around Dilbert. Granted, I’ve never worked in an office setting.

Pearls Before Swine though? “Dunk Rye for me Arch and Tina!” is still one of the funniest bits.

Used to love his work until he revealed himself to be pure drip slime. I gave my entire collection to Goodwill.
Me too. I possessed most of the collections of the first dozen or so years. But I didn't even give them to goodwill. Straight to the dumpster, same place his viewpoint belonged.

Get Fuzzy and Pearls Before Swine are good, but Calvin and Hobbes for the win.

Farside also deserves a mention. Especially since it originated a now official scientific term, thagomizer, the term for the spikes on the end of a stegosaurus tail

That makes me sad. The crossovers with Calvin and Hobbes a few years ago were incredible.
I haven't read any comic strips for years. I have the complete Calvin and Hobbes and Farside. I had a few Pearls Before Swine books and I think a Get Fuzzy. Maybe I'll try to search out some Bloom County online here sometime. I should look at getting more books/collections of the others too sometime.

Bloom County was continued on Facebook for the last few years, maybe more. He now has moved that to a Patreon site.

Yesterday we had to say goodbye to our dog Kody of 16 years. Fortunately the kids were here in December and got to see him one last time, and I had all of them on the phone talking to him as it was time. Kid 1 is in the U.S, Kid 2 and Patti are still in Bangkok.

I keep expecting to see him sleeping in his bed or begging for a treat. But he had a good life, was well loved, saw multiple countries, chased a lot of squirrels and licked a lot of faces.
