It's still not enough though, unfortunately.Oh plenty of them will find out when they’re told by the government that they’re the ones now legally responsible for taking care of their elderly relatives.

The responsibility will fall to the family members who usually step up, and the rest who are selfish and shirk responsibility won't give a shit and remain MAGA.It's still not enough though, unfortunately.
Oh, I'm already looking forward to Boomers giving Millenials one last gut punch as they (literally) leave this world...The responsibility will fall to the family members who usually step up, and the rest who are selfish and shirk responsibility won't give a shit and remain MAGA.
I'd be curious to see what the actual law says in those states. I have no idea, but I do know that in North Dakota what the statute says is that there is filial responsibility, but basically only in those instances where there has been a shift in assets to avoid paying that debt. So, if mom and dad give the kids the farm and then claim poverty and an inability to pay their medical bills, the kids who received the farm may be held responsible."As of 2025, the following states have filial responsibility laws in place: Alaska, Arkansas, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, and West Virginia."
Coloring may be wrong on a couple states. But y'all get the drift.
Her investments lmao she can’t even get that rightMy oldest brother, living in Georgia, is in hospice care for Alzheimer’s. He’s a 24-year vet, so all of these extra factors in play, I’m not sure how this plays out. My SIL, who I know keeps voting R, because of her investments, she says, has to be concerned. My brother is pretty far progressed, so it has to be heavy on her mind. I’m not broaching the topic with her, no need to poor vinegar and rub slat on her wound.
I just invested part of my IRA in a pawn shop conglomerate (how else will poor Americans pay for serious health procedures when Medicaid gets cut?). I can already see where this is going for a lot of the labor force - right down the toilet. Her investments lmao she can’t even get that right
Agreed. Im sure each state has their quirks to this law.I'd be curious to see what the actual law says in those states. I mentioned that earlier but it’s going unnoticed because the Dem leadership doesn’t really care about that and the media is too distracted to notice. With more and more of the bill details being released, it was interesting to see that currently ICE has a $10 Budget but with money being earmarked for deportations, new officers, and new facilities, it ballooned to $100+ Billion dollars.
Which is *double* the US Marines budget in this bill. (ICE currently is 1/8th the staff of the Marines.)

It is worth noting that Texas has put in more solar than I believe all states not named California combined over the last couple years IIRC![]()

The stuff in the GOP bill is some of the clearest ever examples of "if you explain what Republicans are doing in straightforward factual terms an otherwise under-informed normie will think you have entirely lost your mind and can't be trusted"bsky.app
Jesus. I’m sorry man. That seems really early onset. Horrible. My oldest brother, living in Georgia, is in hospice care for Alzheimer’s. Hahaha my 20 month old nephew keeps running around yelling “booby”Let’s call it the “Budget On One Bill” act, or the BOOB Act.
This will be the biggest "touch the stove" moment so far...
And yea, I expect many of them to not give a rats ass about it since it's not quite directly influencing them directly... Grandma Janie was already in rough shape, so her losing her nursing home wasn't a big deal.
