119th congress: must be at least 75 to chair a committee!

And it will never change so long as the DNC doesn't allow anyone under 50 to fill leadership roles. They are all way too fat and happy with the titles they have and still stubbornly cling to a seniority-based system at a time when the fascist party is shredding all precedent and pretense.

Ding ding ding. They are pathetic and terrible leaders. I’m not gonna hand out praise for a fucking speech, when they’ve fumbled everything for so long

House is only thing Dems have a chance of winning back if there are elections and that won’t be enough to fix
What's sad is they keep getting handed everything they need to shift the momentum and because they are all bought and sold they just ignore it. Two best examples:

1) Van Hollen goes to El Salvador to see Abrego Garcia even as Dem Leadership is pivoting away from the fight whilst the GOP is just ignoring the courts. The visit is covered all over the place, polling is done and all of a sudden Trump is underwater on The Border/Immigration. As more stories come out because the Dems are actually pushing a narrative and forcing the issue (and Dems start getting harassed and arrested) everything having to do with deportation becomes hugely unpopular amongst the Indies and Dems and even the GOP is barely treading water on the issue. So what does Jeffries do? He tells his caucus to stop with the trips and focus on the Big Beautiful Disaster. Schumer openly says that the strategy needs to be "Do nothing and let Trump kill himself and we take over" and then openly starts pushing for a fight with Iran which no one wants. The media stops caring and Trump's numbers improve. Complete and total malpractice! It is the worst kept secret that the same consultant class that tanked Harris' campaign is the one advising these guys which is why they arent even paying attention to what the voters are saying.

(meanwhile Ken Martin is bragging about how he is sending Dems out to the GOP areas to talk to the voters the GOP is ignoring...which has wielded nothing if they even did it)

2) Zohran. Look, I get it they wanted the establishment guy to win for a bunch of reasons. I would think they would be wary of Cuomo because he is responsible for thousands of deaths, is full on corrupt and is a sex pest, but he also has clout and a lot of money behind him. Fine. He gets smoked by Zohran...I mean it is an embarrassment for a name like Cuomo to lose that badly especially with all the money he had. Not one NY Dem in Congress endorses nor congratulates Zohran. (I still dont think any of them have) The media of course is livid Cuomo didn't win so they are smearing Zohran left and right which would usually get the Dems to circle the wagon...but they join the media and double down. Polling comes out that shows Zohran won because young people flocked to an off year primary (which has a predictable amount of voters) which threw off all expectations and helped him cruise to victory. Literally Zohran showed the the secret sauce to winning back the voters who stayed home. (Fight ICE, protect Trans Rights, Criticize Israel, fair rent, union power, education, Eat the Rich, talk to the people...etc.) The Dems ignore it because the donor class doesn't like his socialism and anti billionaire stance. Trump threatens to deport him or at the very least defund NYC. Again this would normally get the Dems to coalesce and stand behind the next mayor who is widely popular not just with the base but with the Liberals, the Progressives, the Jews, the Muslims, the youth and so on but still they cant stop stepping on their dicks and pretending he said things he didn't say. Now they look phucking stupid...and Zohran is the next AOC.

The Dems are never going to win anything if they don't wake up and start actually listening to the actual voters. They think everyone that isn't a Righty is just going to flock to them because they aren't MAGA even though we have enough evidence to know that isn't the case. They dont even have a platform...they have no real narrative outside of "we aren't MAGA". That won't work. I guess when these people were learning to give speeches they failed History because there are dozens of examples of how to successfully deal with a tyrant in history...this isn't one of them.

Yep, SSA now straight up publishing propaganda for the regime.

Of course, the guy who "runs" it is a bankster who admitted he had to Google the job when he was tapped for it, so the bar was already very low.

GOP Rep Derrick Van Orden of Wisconsin sent a message to Gov. Evers asking to urgently pass a state budget to protect BadgerCare (aka Medicaid) because of anticipated cuts from the federal gov't with the new bill.

Of course, he then went and voted for the bill and celebrated its passage. And to top it off, "mistakenly" quote tweeted "YES!" on a tweet that talked about how Republicans were stripping healthcare from children, elderly, and the poor.

I know someone on Badger Care. They voted for a Trump.
But.....but......they're cutting Medicaid, which is full of people abusing it and defrauding it.

Badger Care is great, and works wonderfully.

Likewise, I love the ACA, but that Obamacare thing is just horrible.

I saw a list of the name for Medicaid by state yesterday and there's quite the range.

Some are branded like you'd think a regular insurance company would be for a state. Indiana has Hoosier Health, Oklahoma has Sooner Care, Connecticut has Husky Health.

Others are very literal, government-based names for a program. Florida is State Medicaid Managed Care Program. New York is Medicaid Managed Care.

Then it gets generic, where Michigan and PA are just Medical Assistance.

And then to top it off is Arkansas, whose Medicaid healthcare plan is literally just called Health Care.

I thought that no tax on SS died a long time ago?
Not quite. There are instances where you can get taxed on SS. I know, because recently I needed to make sure my parents no longer filing income taxes was a legal thing. It was for them, but I did discover how SS can be taxed in certain circumstances.

What I'm curious to know, because I haven't researched this new bill much, is did it eliminate all those certain circumstances?

This is from an old IRS pdf pre-derp:
Whether your Social Security benefits are taxable depends on your total income and marital status. Form SSA-1099, which Social Security recipients receive by January 31, shows your total benefits, but determining your taxable benefits requires putting pencil to paper. Generally, if Social Security benefits were your only income, your benefits are not taxable and you probably do not need to file a federal income tax return. If you received Social Security benefits plus other income, the answer to how much, if any, is taxable can be found in the worksheet in the Form 1040 instruction book. For a quick computation, add one-half of your Social Security benefits to all your other income, including tax-exempt interest. If this amount is greater than the base amount for your filing status, a part of your benefits will be taxable. The 2000 base amounts are: • $25,000 for single, head of household, or qualifying widow/widower with a dependent child. • $25,000 for married individuals filing separately who did not live with their spouses at any time during the year. • $32,000 for married couples filing jointly. • $0 for married persons filing separately who lived together. If your benefits are taxable, you can avoid estimated tax payments and minimize your tax bill next year by having federal income tax withheld from your benefits.

Looks like the Senate and House are working hard to put money back in the pockets of everyday Americans by scrapping $9.4 billion in spending by our federal govt. So that means Republicans will only add $3 trillion to the deficit in the next 10 years, instead of, well, $3 trillion…

"Are you feeling owned yet, libs!?!? Yes daddy, harder!" scream the MAGAts, while being sodomized by the billionaires.
