BU Hockey '24-'25: Reloaded for another Frozen Four run

Well, not a loss and I like 2 points on the road. I didn’t like the power play and oh my - the faceoffs (47-20). Those things let us down tonight. A win would have pushed us to 6 from 7 in the PWR. Need 3 points in the next 2 games to lock up #3 seed in HE.

Well with no games this weekend let's hope the bug gets done passing through and they can sharpen up for the homestretch.

I know I am always the person that doesn't scoreboard watch and says that BU needs to focus on BU and not other teams but for sh*ts and giggles, do we need to hope for anything to happen this weekend to help us out in any way?

Hmm… I guess if we want to get into 2nd place in HEA, we would likely need Maine to lose to Vermont this weekend.

Not sure what pairwise implications that might have though.

It would be nice if Bu has clinched third place by the final home game so Caron could play goal one more time
Would reward him for his efforts the past two years
pairwise is very tight but retaining a 2 seed would be good

Yeah. I think we're at the point of the season where we are best sticking with "BU takes care of BU". Protecting the 3rd seed for HE tourney and a #2 seed in the NCAA regional is the goal here and that's done by winning their games.

I don't see much advantage in moving up to #2 in the HE tourney if that's even achievable, and a top seed in a regional isn't happening.

Agreed- assuming highest seeds advance, 2 plays 3 anyway at the garden.

Is the higher seed the “home team” as far as line changes? That would be the only real advantage I can think of.

Yes, the highest seed is the home team.

I think we root for NU to beat UConn to help keep 3rd place.

I like the thought of Chewy playing the PC game. I hope it happens.

The final home game, and senior night, is Thursday against Providence. No way to clinch - I do not believe - before then. UMass' shoot out win over UML last night clinched a bye at the very least, but they can still drop from third. So - what does Pandolfo do? I say he starts Caron.

so pc really the only team has a shot at passing for #3?

UConn could tie, but hoping BU gets at least to ot up at uvm🙄

A post on Twitter by a Minnesota State fan reports that BU will participate in a tournament around New Year's next season in Palm Springs along with Lowell, St. Cloud and the Mavericks. I'm guessing Scarlet has already made her flight reservations. ;)

Terriers also are set for a series with Michigan State. Along with the Beanpot, that accounts for six of the 10 non-conference games on the 2025-26 schedule.

I would think you guys will be at MSG again later in the year, so make that 7 out of 10 unless something unexpected happens.

surprised to see them playing in any tourney around first of year
Will be short handed with players at world junior

Nice benefit for the boys to go and play someplace interesting. Also prolly won’t get umlol first game so get kids to play new teams

While it would be nice for Caron to get one last game, I think we need to secure our Pairwise position and make it as high as possible. We could drop into the third tranche of the seeing if we get casual and don’t take care of business.
