2026 Elections: To the Midterms and Beyond!

I think you are looking at it the wrong way… I don’t think you could look at it as “going Federman“ or “going Collins“

What happened last night is the Democrats took back the center. If they are smart and want to retain those seats in six years (and in two years for Congress) they will govern as such.
Sure, sure....

Nice, common-sense centrist positions like:
  • People should go to jail for doing illegal things
  • Illegal tariffs are illegal
  • Illegal wars are illegal
  • It is illegal for the Executive branch to divert/not spend funds contrary to Congressional appropriations
  • It is illegal for Federal agencies to murder US citizens
  • We should defend democracies around the world from attack by authoritarian nations
  • We should NOT support states that commit human rights atrocities, whether against their own citizens or others
Just as loss or privilege feels like oppression, Republicans will wail that these policies are radical. They are not. Republicans do not get to define the center, so when they inevitably complain about the radical leftist agenda, the blue Congress should ignore them and run right over their objections with a Mack truck.

If one or two blue members need to wring their hands over these policies to ensure re-election, they are free to Collins it.

Oh fuck off. I can't speak to how she was 30 years ago, but for the last decade Collins was a partisan hack who only pretended to be a centrist to fool morons like you. She was never the deciding vote against something the GOP wanted, even when she could've been.

So if Turek et al need to be similarly disingenuous, sorry "concerned," to win, they should go for it without the left wailing about it.

Of course that's what happened

If they wanted 'centrism', then Drew's boo would have won.

With 54 seats (and potentially more), Dem voters need to not freak out when Turek, Brown, and others from more purple states pull a reverse Collins. So long as they vote blue when it matters, give them leave to express their 'independence' when it doesn't. That's one way they'll be able to retain these seats in 6 years.

I'm not saying let them go full Fetterman or Manchin, but let them be as concerned as Collins. It worked well for her for 30 years.
If, similar to Collins, they do Concern Drag and then vote with the party 90% of the time, so be it.

Oooh - just noticed that Boebert might get a boo-boo. Currently losing to Adm. Laubacher 49.2-47.7 (just under 5k differential), with 83% reporting.

Not called yet, but tantalizingly close.

With only 1 Republican leading, it's possible that all 8 Colorado Reps could be Dems when the dust settles.... (+4 Pickup)

Drew thought Nirav Shah was the better option once Platner dropped out. I said back then I knew Troy Jackson was the right choice. I know ticapnews wanted him before Platner’s despicable shit was fully discovered. Christmas came early for most of us.

LMAO

"Voting for someone...with no real experience...only because they have the same radical beliefs as you" - MAGAts could not be any less self-aware if they tried.

There's some Tennessee house race where the Dem didn't even raise $100k and is leading by a fraction of a percent in a district that was +24 for Trump two years ago.

Wow indeed.

Haley Stevens another one of Chuckie Schumer's great recruits, along with Vindman in Florida, and Janet Mills?

I hope the Dems in Congress make it abundantly clear that both sternly worded letter Chuck and Jeffries need to go.

He did specifically ask Colom to run in MS, so he's going that going for him, which is nice.

Vance now publicly blames the Iran war (which we already knew he was against) and support for Israel. Will be interesting to see if he tries to reposition that relationship going into 2028.

What was the polling for MI Senate before Helly changed her face? I can find the MSNOW one that was ~50-45 on Oct 31.

Because a 7 point win seems like that Al-Sayed was very much not wrong for keeping her out, and the "both side" BS turns out to be the opposite. To turn a 5 point lead to a 7 point massacre. Let alone if you backtrack to Wed when the snub supposedly happened- which was just about a 3 point lead.

Yea, Senator Al-Sayed, it was the correct thing to do keeping Stevens away from your rallies.

Vance is as spineless and morally deficient as any politician in history. He's Aaron Burr. He doesn't stand for anything except what he thinks will get him elected in the moment. He would sell his mother to the devil if it got him more votes.

His campaign did the math and he realized he did not need her. More importantly, he did not need the stench of her weird MAGA fiance or the registered foreign agents of Israel who worked on her campaign wafting over his own operation in the final days, potentially giving them access to insider info to use against him.
