UMaine '26-'27: The Bridge On the River Stillwater

Great win, and a statement one at that. Was nice to see Boija back to making the stops when it matters. The new guys all making an impact is also a massive plus. On top of that, love the battle in this year's squad. Let's be honest, last year's team would not have the mental fortitude to close that one out. Early season bye weeks suck, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ more time to prep for Colgate, who got swept this weekend by *checks notes* Stonehill?!?

This team works their ass off. Maybe Barr’s hardest working group yet. Which is saying something.

Last night was one of Max Scott’s best games at Maine. Need that every night.

Usereau is becoming a great shut down guy. He has improved a ton since the beginning of last year.

Gerrior doesn’t stop. I love it. Every shift. Dude can move.

Face offs are not great. The Scholle line checks so well so it’s not burying them. But they need to play with the puck more.

Curious to see what Campbell is like when he’s healthy. Seems like he will fit Maine’s style like a glove. I’d push Russell to center and play them with Klimpke. Just an idea!

Maybe…but also seems like ticket availability is being mis-managed. Blocks of seats suddenly available during game week? How about putting ALL available seats on sale back in August when single game tickets went on sale. Ticketing has been a fiasco.
Or sell more season tickets to people on waiting list. No reason to have unsold tickets with a waiting list.

FWIW, most of those seats were up in the balcony. Kids were on fall break so you can't really forecast how many kids will/will not claim tickets.

I can understand the tickets becoming available in the balcony because students didn't claim them because of break, but there were swathes of seats in BB and CC that had been unavailable but suddenly popped up Wednesday or Thursday. According to the website, the Saturday night games against Colgate, UMass and Boston College are all sold out, and only handicapped tickets remain for the Friday games. Will be interesting to see if tickets suddenly appear for those games as well.

For fans of Shawn Walsh and the legacy that he started when he took over at Maine, don't stoop to the depths of the clown from QU. Shawn recognized that profanity is the mother tongue of the unwashed masses. He went to the student body at the outset and convinced them to keep their language clean so that they would be taken seriously. I encourage you to embrace Shawn's ethos here, especially when dealing with clowns like our friend from QU. Don't stoop to his depths. Block him, ignore him, report him. But don't join him.

Except that you don’t know how many comps are going to be given back until 3-4 days before a given game. Same goes with student tickets, extras go on sale the day before if the kids don’t claim them all.
