The Broadway bridges started during Covid, they lost a fall and winter due to weather. The traffic there is a nightmare, they should be done by winter and then we get Cianbro doing 2 bridges over Stillwater ave and the Diamond interchange is a solution to a problem that doesn't exist especially when the mall is dead.

The ramps are high crash locations and the ADT through there is 20k+ trips per day along Hogan Road. It's pretty in line with where Diverging Diamonds are considered. That said, I haven't been through there in years so I can't speak to the delay.

Only a few single seats remain available for opening night vs Quinnipiac. Four upper bowl groups of 2/3 seats for the Saturday night. Two seats are still available for BU. A single in section J and one in OO. A couple of limited view seats behind the benches are available.

If people can't get on and off hogan rd they shouldn't be driving. The south bound off ramp from Stillwater ave is place of concern as there is a 2 lane bridge where one would normally merge and oops no more lane.

Ok my last bridge comment, maybe, sitting here thinking about engineering marvels.
Look up the west white rose offshore oil project in NL, a favorite of mine Ive been watching for a few years. Impressive and expensive. And we cant build a bridge over the Stillwater river in less than ???? years. Goes to show how infrastructure costs just arent important anymore.

Football played but 5 home games last season, averaged 4,315 in attendance, and was one game away from the tournament...
Yes, there's a contingent on here that wants all the money funneled to hockey, but I don't see that ever happening.
Football, for decades now, has been more relevant than hockey, on-average. There has existed no other program in Orono over that span that has had a realistic shot at a NC more frequently. Period.
I would like to see that change, but facts is facts as of now.

It’s a little surprising to me that RI’s bridge problems haven’t spurred the other NE states to action. We’re lucky in Maine that most bridges we could live without temporarily without too much hassle. I think at some point the Boston area is going to have major issues with bridges. There are so many in horrible shape and most of them are difficult and expensive to replace.

For the Miami and Providence series (during winter break) seats in the student section are available for purchase on a general admission basis. There are still a few seats available for three of the four games; the Saturday night vs PC only has a handful of singles left.

There wasn't a single season in the last 50 years in which Maine had a realistic chance to win a football national title, even the year they went to the semifinals. North Dakota State would have beaten that team by 40.

Who knows what is going to happen with college sports from this point forward. Maine might be able to compete for a national championship in football in the future depending what the divisional set-up is. I mean....some are talking about URI winning it all this coming season.
On a side note....is anyone else impressed with the Morse Arena construction so far? Consigli seems to be working quickly and efficiently. They maintain a very neat and organized construction site as well.

The computer models ranked North Dakota State in the top 25 - of the FBS. The only way NDSU doesn't beat Maine by 40 is if the third string took the field at 35-0 and the referees called the game at halftime because of a mercy rule.
Of course, Maine lost before that happened, so we'll never know for sure.
Curious who the person is that is selling seats in the student section to almost every game for $160/seat. I guess someone is still grandfathered in up there? Granted, sitting in the student section is an experience, but not a $160 experience.
And to make sure I'm on topic, here's a photo of the Cribstone Bridge in Harpswell. It has not collapsed...
