2026 Elections: To the Midterms and Beyond!

And they also play absolutists on socialism but refuse to go on record by voting to eliminate social security, medicare, and medicaid. They just find convenient nefarious ways to eliminate them from existence.

Yes, we have a lot of socialism in America. Including taking over companies OR bailing out companies. Trump has done it numerous times.

Just so you dont hold your breath anymore, peter navarro told steve bannon today evidence is coming out this week about how the 2020 election was rigged. I'm guessing it was Fauci who did it

You won't be convinced otherwise - through your lens anyone even slightly to the right of you on the political spectrum must be a Republican.
I'll just say this. I may not live on the east coast, but I looked up your town's demographics and I suspect we come from a similar upper-middle class/private school background. After I spent my freshman year of college rooming with a native Yooper and being friends with a student from Puerto Rico (both of whom ended up in $50-75k of student debt after graduating), I got a serious reality check about how most Americans actually live hand-to-mouth, and thus I've come to reject trickle-down economics as a sustainable model for the country's longevity. I, for one, am not keen on refighting the Civil War against a bunch of starving serfs with stockpiles of modded, semi-automatic firearms.

You may not like the DSA's "defund ICE/open borders" schtick. I'm not for open borders either, but that is how you start negotiations with a party that has marched so far to the right that they have openly stated that their goal is net negative immigration. However, right now they're the only candidates trying to offer any real solutions to America's top-heavy problems with wealth and opportunity. Chucky Schumer, Fetterstroke, and their merry band of fossils with two feet already in the grave sure as hell aren't interested. But, I'm sure you won't see it that way.

Right - I suspect the vast majority of this board is solidly middle class… as to some of your other comments, not sure where i said I supported trickle down economics or would be against additional legislation regarding gun control etc?

And also not sure what it has to do with my point that Rufus will never believe that people on the right think I’m too liberal and people on the far left think I must be a republican.

And regarding immigration and ice, I think you are proving my point… …. The solution lies somewhere in between net negative migration and zero borders.

What part of "you don't negotiate from where you want to end" do you not understand?

There's a boat for sale on Bring a Trailer dot com. Asking price is $2500. You do a little searching, it's only worth $2000.

Why are you proposing to always start your negotiation at $2000? You offer $1500 and negotiate towards the final price. If you find the seller refuses to budge off $2500, then you walk away and look for a different boat.

On the flip side, to use your analogy, I say “I’m not paying $2,500” … then you immediately respond “why would you only pay $1,500!??!?!?!! You must be a cheapskate”. (Without ever considering that maybe $2000 is the right price)

A shrewd one like him would open the negotiations at only $3500

You're so close to getting it...
