Boston University Terriers 2026 Offseason Thread

Agree on Lawrence's upside. Pando pointed out that at the end of the season, he was BU's top forward. For the upcoming season, he'll have a full pre-season to develop chemistry with linemates and some added motivation after falling in the draft to #11. Eli Cloutier wrote a good piece on Lawrence in his substack.

For the offense to get back close to where it was in the first 3 Pando seasons, the other returning wings (Murtagh, Fondrk, Merrill) and newcomers Olsen and Norringer will need to capitalize on the playmaking strengths of the center group.
 
Quite a bit of scuttlebutt that Matt Gilroy will return to BU as an addition to the coaching staff this season. The NCAA is voting later this summer to allow an unlimited number of coaches on staff who can provide on-ice and in-game coaching, so it seems like he'd be joining in a new position and no one else would be leaving the staff.

Wow. Mac Celebrini signs NHL's richest-ever contract before what would have been his senior year at BU. Harder and harder to resist one-and-done.
 
The excellent Twitter account BU Hockey Stats got a lot of MAGA minded neanderthal's panties in a bunch over BU's 2026 incoming Freshman class by noting that none of them are from the United States of America. :rolleyes:. It was fun watching Mike E thread the needle. :cool:

Rogie just shared that former Terrier defenseman Adrian Aucoin’s son Kaden has committed to BU. Who here remembers when Adrian scored that goal in WBA and celebrated like he won the Stanley Cup? And then Jack Parker pulled him down the tunnel to yell at him? I wonder if there is any footage of that. Would be funny for him to see.

Duplicating my reply to you on Twitter (I refuse to call it X.) Against Dartmouth. His goal put BU up 7-1. Hence Coach Parker's disdain for Adrian's exuberant celebration. Fun memory.

I read he's a shutdown defenseman. He better be with only 7 points in 61 games. 😳 😬
