Should college hockey have more than one timeout?

How do people feel about having more than one timeout in college hockey?
How about 3? One a period our coach's choice?

No. With TV timeouts, the bottom 2 lines get shafted too much already.

They often go through games without using their 1 time out - why add two? - also adding a couple more timeouts makes risking a challenge and the possibility of a 2 minute delay of game call meaningless.

I agree that adding more timeouts is unneccessary.

On the challenge bit though: maybe it'd be better if they went straight to delay of game for an unsuccessful challenge, like in the NHL.

Personally, I like that better. Losing a timeout is hardly punitive.

No thanks. Like the mostly continuous flow of the game, especially compared to college hoops with the under 16, 12, 8, and 4 TOs on top of the team's TOs. Hockey feels like it is played in periods, hoops is now a series of 10 spurts between 2:45 and 5:15 each.

Compared to most other sports, the object of hockey is to keep the game moving, as evidenced by being able to change the competitors while the game is underway. One of the pitfalls of college sports is coaches who want to make the game all about them. The less we need to stop games and watch players receive coaching the better.

They should not blow the whistle if the puck hits the netting behind the goal and above the boards inadvertently.

The players would pay attention to the puck and if it goes in, so be it. That would reduce a lot of stoppages and improve flow, especially with these media timeouts built into the games now.

This, and:
* Make playing the puck above the shoulders legal
* Make kicking/directing the puck into the goal legal
* Make hand passes legal in all zones (still can't hold the puck with the hands, or throw it -- just make batting it in the air to a teammate legal)

If you've got the athleticism/coordination to complete any of the above plays, good on you. Play on.

Yeah, I'm not fan of that proposal either. But I get what others, like Timothy A., are saying.
