Never really got very involved with repairing sports injuries but came really close a few times. Closest was when Larry Holmes (at the time heavyweight champion) was flying back from Florida to Newark and ended up sitting with me and Jen in first class on an Eastern Airlines flight (as I mentioned it was a long time ago). We got to talking and when he found out I was a cosmetic surgeon and located not far from his Easton Pa. home base, asked if i wanted to come work for him as his cut repair man. At the time he did not have much to fix other than a scar from a Bonecrusher Smith head butt that was simply not sewn well. We were going to drive out to see him at his hotel and nightclub (the Knockout and the Round One) after his next fight but things got delayed after he beat Michael Spinks and other fights were quickly scheduled. Talked a few times after but never got together on it.Glad to hear that the soon to be announced Dr. Demento NIL program is paying off. Doesn't the good doc have a background in cosmetic surgery? Since we didn't opt in the money can only come from outside sources for services rendered. I can see the ads now:
"Got an ugly stitch mark from a hockey injury? The Dr. Demento team will have your face as smooth as a baby's butt in no time."
Repaired lots of hockey cuts at the local high school level here in NJ but by that time we did everything gratis and was happy just to help.
