Wisconsin Women's Hockey 2026-27

I'd have expected him/them to couch that be saying "... one of the top..." etc, not just flat out saying it the way they did. Accurate, given the last few years' results. But still, a little surprising they would state it that explicitly.

As I wrote when starting the Ohio State 2026-27 thread, here's what Windchill22 is referring to:

Muzerall was asked in the press conference after this past year's national championship game about her 2025-26 freshmen class and the impact they had had, and how she felt about the team's future. Instead of giving the standard answer of "Well, first, I want to say how much we'll miss our graduating seniors, yadda yadda ... but we have a great core of players coming back yadda yadda ... and I'm excited about our incoming class of freshmen yadda yadda yadda", Muzzy had to go the other way.

Her answer, in its entirety, was "I think the future ARE the Buckeyes ... you can write that down." And you really need to see the smirk on her face as she says it to really "appreciate" the quote.

I went back and found where I had seen the post-game press conferences, and Muzerall's answer. The video is embedded in this article, with Nicole Haase's (?) question and Muzerall's answer at the 5:30 point of the video.

And where did she go to college?! "The future ARE"?!?! Seriously?!?! The future is not plural, so "The future IS" would be the only option that is grammatically correct.
