AC Milan has responded by going full scorched earth. Fired their head coach, technical director, sporting director, and CEO. The person left to be in charge? Zlatan.

Bundesliga experience in starting XI

Wolfsburg: 511 games
Padorborn: 0 games

SC Padorborn 07 just defeated Wolfsburg 2-1 to gain promotion.

Huh. That's weird.

Thousands of Unsold World Cup Tickets Suddenly Disappear From FIFA Website

Thousands of tickets for the 2026 FIFA World Cup have been abruptly pulled just days before the tournament, which has already shown signs of softer demand among soccer fans.

According to estimates from TicketData.com, about 74,000 tickets were available directly through the organization until Saturday, at which point the total fell to 44,000 and then to under 30,000, where it now sits. FIFA has not offered an explanation for the decline, which TicketData.com said was due to an unspecified "sudden inventory removal."

Keith Pagello, founder of TicketData.com, told Newsweek that there was no way of definitively knowing the reason for the abrupt decline in inventory, beyond confirmation from FIFA, but said there was “no world” in which this was due to fans suddenly purchasing the 40,000-plus tickets.
"Get a free World Cup ticket with the purchase of a commemorative Trump FIFA Peace Prize coin."

Sarcasm detected...

But yes, actually! Chicago is lively with USA/Germany on Saturday. Lots of buzz among those of us going to the match.

And many bars/resturants are rolling out their plans for the group stage games (Both US and Mexico). So there will be support shown throughout the group stage for those games at least. Not sure what Spain/Cape Verde will draw, but **shrug**.

Sarcasm? Me? Whyever would you say that? I'm just so pumped up!

I can't watch any games on my TV since I haven't subscribed to cable in over a decade and I refuse to pay the extortionate rate for Fox One. So I'll be firing up the VPN and logging in from Liverpool. Yes, of course I have a BBC license...

No Fox affiliate over the air?

ESPN celebrates record viewership for La Liga.

That record average? 91k viewers per match.

Important to note that ESPN is paying a $175 million a year to La Liga, $1.4 billion over 8 years starting in 2021, while they balked at paying MLS $250 million a year when MLS was averaging 343k viewers per match.
91K viewers puts it just ahead of playoff college hockey and just behind regular season college baseball.

If El Clasico drew 1.3M viewers, that means some games had hundreds of people watching.

Wonder what the numbers are for Bundesliga.

Probably not great since ESPN was paying about $30 million last season and the Bundesliga doesn't have a US broadcaster right now.

Serie A just reupped with Paramount but it's only for next season.

BTW, who's gonna win this shitshow?

I am assuming the US gets to the final 8, given the interesting refereeing and opponent effort typically associated with being the WC Host.

The World Cup is right here in the good ol' USofA in a week. Can you feel the excitement yet?

Really? I thought it must start the final week of June because there has been zero, and I mean zero, attention paid to it here. I really hope PHX is not a Host site as if so it will be entirely empty for Bolivia v Uganda or whatever.

Spain or France.

I'll laugh my ass off if the USMNT loses to Iran in R32 (which could happen)

Don’t sleep on the Dutch or the Argentines, Brazil too if they can figure it out. The weather will likely knock out one favorite early.

US will likely make the R16, South Korea made the semifinals back when they hosted in 2002 and our government is way more corrupt than that.
