World Soccer XXXI: Golden Generation?

Besides Bosnia and Herzegovina beating Italy, Sweden, Czechia and Türkiye also qualified out of Europe. Turkiye an important one as they’re in the US’ group.

Jamaica and DR Congo are playing now, Iraq and Bolivia will decide the final spot later.

DR Congo beats Jamaica in OT to qualify.

Meanwhile, the USMNT continues to be bad trailing Portugal 0-1 at the half.

Just fooling around with a World Cup bracket predictor and if both finish second in their group, Iran and the USMNT will meet in R32 in Dallas on July 3rd.

The end of the Champions League Women's quarterfinal second leg match between Arsenal and Chelsea is clouded in controversy over VAR. In added time with the score 3-2 Gunners,, Chelsea had the ball when Katie McCabe reached out to grab Alyssa Thompson's shirt to stop a Chelsea attack. Instead she grabbed her hair, yanking Thompson to the ground. McCabe stopped playing and ran back to Thompson to apologize but the referee never blew the whistle for a foul and the play carried on around them as Arsenal kicked the ball into the Chelsea end. Chelsea's coach objected and was shown a second yellow and dismissed. VAR took no action. When the game concluded McCabe again went to Thompson and has apologized to her publicly. It was probably too late in the game to make a difference, but it should have been a red card for McCabe and a free kick for Chelsea at midfield with about 90 seconds left. It would also mean McCabe would miss the first leg of the semifinal against Lyon.

In other Chelsea news, Enzo Fernandez has been suspended two games by the club for talking about the possibility of living in Madrid (and obviously playing for Real) after the World Cup.

Important to note that even with $18,000 tickets there is still no parking. It has been announced that train tickets (normally $12) will be over $100 for the tournament, And it isn't like you can walk to the stadium. Similarly, there will be no parking for Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, but you will be able to take a bus from Boston to the stadium for only $75. Of course, you have to pay to park in Boston, so...

No tailgating either.

Those games are the most likely major terrorist target of opportunity in the US since 9/11.

Look at who runs DHS, FBI, and the DNI.

You like those odds?

On the other hand, the only people who can afford tickets are going to be their friends and donors, so protecting them will be a priority.

But I plan to go for free. I'm going to wear an ICE vest and say I am on duty. If the ticket taker tries to stop me I'll just threaten to shoot them for interfering with a federal officer.

FIFA will ask the child rapist war criminal to pause ICE raids during the World Cup.

In a related story, I will ask Elon for $1 billion.

Both have equal chances of success.

The price of the bus from Boston to Foxboro was incorrectly reported as $75. It will actually cost $95. TICAP News regrets the error.
Also, stadia will not be referred to by their corporate sponsors. They will be referenced as "Boston Stadium" or "Los Angeles Stadium" not Gillette or SoFi etc.
