Iran So Far Away: 2026

Saw a report the the American Government will start automatically registering male citizens between 18-26 for the draft in December (all males between 18-25 are already required to register).

So, they can figure out who is eligible for the draft on their own, but can't figure out who can vote, so everyone has to prove they are eligible to vote? This is asinine.....
So, they can auto that but we need a passport to vote.

Fuck Them.

Basically what you said, but I just needed to vent and repeat it.

Honestly - good. This should have always been the case, since it's a requirement if you ever plan to apply for student loans, most civilian federal jobs and many state jobs, driver's licenses in a majority of states, etc. I think Alaska also requires it in order to receive your Permanent Fund dividend (if eligible).

I'm laughing at the many Zoomers who are probably just now learning of the requirement, since no one's been prosecuted for failure to register since 1986.

I registered in 1986.

I tried to enlist in the Army in 1985. I was rejected. I failed the physical. All the guys that were smoking pot and had it in their system during the physical were sworn in immediately after the physical.

Honestly, LMAO.

One time I was leading a consulting project with a stakeholder who was a former Marine recruiter. At lunch he told me the day after 9/11, the prospects were lined up around the block, but he had to send a bunch of them on down to the Army recruiting office because they had rap sheets or test results that the Marines wouldn't accept. The Army wouldn't have a problem with them though!

"You want to know if I'm moral enough to join the army, burn women, kids, houses and villages after being a litterbug?"

Trump is upset with his war critics. Calls Tucker, Megyn Kelly, Candace Owens, and Alex Jones stupid nut jobs and troublemakers.
But are they on the Group W bench?

I was 'this' close to joining the Marines because I wanted to fly the Harrier. I made it all the way through the AFPSAT but failed the eye exam. Corrective lenses were allowed but my level of astigmatism was too much to qualify.

YouGov live poll numbers:
Is the USA-Iran war over - 10% Definitely/Probably; 76% Probably/Definitely Not
How much do gas prices affect you personally - 82% A lot/A little, 14% Not at all

How could gas prices not affect you at all?

Was this a poll of York, Pennsylvania pretzel makers?

The difference between you and I is I just wanted to drink enough Pepsi products to be able to fly the Harrier.

If you have enough money I suppose you don't care how much things cost. I also think people are just thinking of the price of gas, and not all the associated costs. It doesn't affect me as much anymore because I work from home, only leave the house for doctor/grocery visits, have solar panels etc. But it still hurts because the price of everything goes up, not just a gallon of gas.

Seriously, can we give him a fake phone where it pretends to post things but doesn't? And just let Vance run the show, I guess? *gulp* Hey, at least he realizes it's a shitty idea to listen to Netan-yayhoo's war games fantasies.

There's a certain crowd that just doesn't care...

In the Bass Fishing world, most of the modern Bass boats are $65-125K brand new. There are guys that will buy one for cash, sell it the following year or two for 3/4 of the original value, and then throw in the extra $25-40K in cash for the next one. The gas tanks on these boats are 40-55 gallons, and each and every practice and/or tournament day they get topped off before takeoff. They may acknowledge that the fuel bill is now pushing $150+/day, but its accepted and baked in.
