Utica University 2025-26 - The Road (back) To Utica

This from a college hockey reporter who would know: “It does not appear that many tickets remain for the Albany Regional's first day.”
That looks to be true when you go look at tickets available for sale. But they are only offering tickets for the lower bowl, and probably closing off the upper sections. Lower bowl probably holdings 5,000-6,000 which would be a good turnout.

Hello?

There is zero evidence that Utica pays a fucking dime! It's widely known as a college deeply in the red. (Where do you get your news, from Breitbart?)

Guys seem to like having an actual audience there, and playing in front of 2500 warm bodies in the fanciest arena in all of D-3. Nobody who has played at Utica has ever made a meaningful career out of the game of hockey.

That seems to be about the extent of it, for Christ's sake. Give it a rest. You remind of that idiot Bondi, just throwing shit against the wall and hoping it'll stick.

It doesn't.
But the University is lucky to be able to play there, since they do not own it, I believe Oswego has the fanciest college owned arena in D3 with the best broadcast facilities in D3. This is from a Plattsburgh fan.

Wishing them well. We always had a blast at Albany.

Pearl St. was very handy for in-between games eats and drinks, and Maine never lost there lol.

It's a tough venue to beat vis-a-vis the fan experience. If they can draw 5-6K, good for them.

Oh, for fuck's sake. Anyone with half a brain would know when he said "sometimes mercenaries don't make good soldiers" was a figure of speech, not literally players who showed up just for the non existent money. He was using that metaphor for an example of when you bring people in (i.e., mercenaries) just for a specific purpose who were never a part of the overall team and culture, that they don't necessarily work as well as the team players (i.e., soldiers) who were there all along to play for the team and school.
And, FFS, mercenaries are, by definition, paid... The implication was clear. Anyone with the requisite "half a brain" could have picked up on that.

Guys transfer to Utica for the facilities and the fan-base, not for the non-existent money involved. Nobody "brought them in". They wanted to play here, end of story.

Even the guy who wrote that post agrees with me.

It's a figure of speech dickbrain. If you can't handle being wrong, that's on you.

We now have Fishman asserting that Utica does not recruit players. They are just beating down the door to come join the perennial national power Pios.

"Dickbrain"? How old are you, in terms of emotional age? 7? You seem to be channeling the orange shitstain in that regard.

Go back to regurgitating box-scores in longhand as a "writer". You sucked at that, and you suck as a poster.

(No offense intended.)

You're the one dropping f-bombs and other profanity on here. Talk about arrested development. Maybe you shouldn't be worried so much about the speck in your neighbor's eye while you ignore the plank in your own.

Wow. Maybe Sir Nubs is right. The time you post every night really is after you hit the Daniels.

Maybe all you Utica fans should go back to bragging about having the best Teddy Bear toss in the country. I heard they have a whole trophy case dedicated just to that somewhere in the Aud.

I'm not worried about your offense. Because we all know your true colors. And the last time you said something like that, I had like a dozen private messages letting me know you are completely off your rocker. And that is all offense intended.

Then again, what am I worried about. Your comment proves you don't (or can't) read. Either that or I have clairvoyant powers describing a goal in detail when all I do is regurgitate a boxscore.

Don't drag all of us into it Russ. The Teddy Bear Toss is a great event that the community rallies around and is proud of.

I expect a lukewarm attendance this weekend. Not trolling, but what are other D3 markets that would post strong attendance if their team wasn't a part of it?

Don't some of you that post here ever get embarrassed by your posts ? Have you no "self respect" ?
Ironically, you "liked" a post from Shabby that was clearly directed at little boys such as yourself who employ the elementary-school-level word "dickbrain". Maybe YOU need to put the bottle down, you think?

Serious question...at 9 p.m. every night does the clock in your house, instead of nine cuckoo calls, does it make the sound of nine ice cubes falling into the tumbler?

(OK, ignoring the uninvited trolls from here on out.)

Game One today was a good one. Much closer than the final score would seem to indicate. Aurora owned the 3rd, even as HC seemed to have a comfortable lead going into that frame. It became a nail-biter when AU drew within 1 with maybe 11 minutes left. Then, there was a possible game-tying goal waved off after a lengthy review... The NCAA cameras didn't show us any of that, for some reason.

Pretty good crowd, too. I'm guessing that around 2,000 people were actually there, even if many UU fans who bought tickets stayed home.

I underestimated the Hamilton turnout, Hobart/Hamilton should be a raucous blast. If I had to bet my life, I'd pick Hobart, but Hamilton is very fast and skilled.
Looking forward to it.

I thought you had me blocked? Guess not. Just more lies from you.

The irony of You calling someone out about elementary school wording, while lost in your, is just rich.
To be fair, you get credit for not going into your normal misogynistic ranting (but I doubt that will last long).

"The irony of.... while lost in your..." ?

You make zero sense.

Go to bed, Grampie. Haven't you got enough to whine about on the Norwich thread?
