Wisconsin Women's Hockey 2025-2026

I never thought they had us.

Eden hit a post and KK missed her open net when the game was tied. UW was still getting great chances and pushing back.

And after last year's finish - where tOSU actually DID have us but then didn't - no way I was giving up on this group of Badgers.

Concerned? For sure but in no way was I convinced that tOSU "had us."

I thought the point at which UW was the most vulnerable was in the semis right after PSU tied it at 3 and had a second chance opportunity with a lot of net up top to shoot at. Had that gone in, the crowd energy might have carried the home team over the finish line. It didn't, and the story ended the way that it did.

You have a stronger confidence than I do I guess. They crumbled/looked bad in the wcha title game, had no composure in the semi, did not put them away on the PP and were not creating anything once it was tied except for the KK chance, then Enright's goal. I was thinking about what to post about the loss at that point. It felt inevitable they were going to pee this away. Muzzy had me beaten. I'm glad my weak mentality was wrong.

Always seems to be moments like that doesn't there? Where the pendulum could go either way.

PSU was very dangerous in that game.

I said it afterwards, but that PSU game was a great tune up for the Badgers. Got em ready for Sunday.

I wasn't necessarily confident but I definitely wasn't resigned to a bad fate.

Had we played the entire game like we did in the WCHA Championship, I may have been pessimistic.

On Friday, I said I was hoping the the Badgers could find "their game" one more time time this season and they did yesterday. For the most part, they looked like the team we had seen prior to the Olympic break even if it was a more shared effort across the entire lineup.

That's what made me believe we could absolutely still win it.

I mean tOSU is a great team and they had a say too so it's not like we were ever gonna boat race them in this game.

Clutch is as clutch does and this group has shown themselves to be clutch.

Minnesota fans start sandbagging, you rip on them, and the fanbase was completely and entirely vindicated. I wouldn't tempt fate on your end by sandbagging.
Please accept my sincerest apologies on the sandbagging accusations. Your Frostiettes melted in the warmth of a cold spring. They truly were not good. I had a lot more faith in them than you and the rest of your fellow tunnel fans had. I was wrong, just like I am most of the time. 😜

I feel like the welcome home celebration was broadcast somewhere last year.

Haven't seen any mention of that this time.

Anyone know anything?

Also - haven't been able to find the postgame presser from yesterday. EDIT - it's on YouTube now. Wasn't earlier.

MJ's weekly presser from last week was real insight into a great coach's outlook on leadership and humility. It was also very interesting he gave some insight into the fact that even great teams can struggle to come together even with a lot of success. He mentions that he was glad to see a group of successful players move on because they were a handful to handle. I'd LOVE to know who that class was.

If this video of the Badgers rocking out to Mr. Brightside doesn't set back the home team's program by 15 years, I don't know what will. Especially if you consider the "destiny is calling me" line. The team is singing joyfully and then promptly scores to move on to the national championship game.

That's cool that it was posted by Quinn Kuntz. Once a Badger always a Badger.
