I have a friend who was a backup goalie for Michigan State in the mid-80s. When I described my first trip to Columbus to watch the Gophers, he said, "They still play in that dump?"Accurate. It’s really unfortunate.

My reaction to Idalski would be the same as my reaction to Muzerall, for pretty much the same reasons. I wouldn't stop being a fan, but it would make the team less fun to root for.Idalski would be a great get. It's honestly hard to fathom Minnesota not going to the "has worked for the school before" well, and it's hard to fathom someone who either wouldn't start working right away or would have to leave a job in-season to do so. But I'd love that.
Is Idalski the only one who fits that description? Wasn't there an ECAC or HE coach who went to the PWHL? I apologize for not paying all that much attention to east coast teams.Idalski would be a great get. There's Fargo, the old Colgate coach, with the Sirens (my team). He was a very good college coach for a program that didn't have a ton of resources and very high academic requirements. As someone who is exclusively an easterner for hockey purposes he doesn't seem like a fit.Is Idalski the only one who fits that description? Wasn't there an ECAC or HE coach who went to the PWHL? Frustrating for so many reasons. Girls hockey is growing here and it’s hard to even suggest new fans even go watch a game there due to the dysfunction and inequity of the rink.I have a friend who was a backup goalie for Michigan State in the mid-80s. When I described my first trip to Columbus to watch the Gophers, he said, "They still play in that dump?"
The question there would be recruiting. Will they be cleaning house and the new coach also means new assistants who generally do the recruiting.Anyone think Wrobo to Minnesota is likely?
That would be a scary hire from a WI perspective.Idalski would be a great get.
I wouldn't count on him getting past Ohio State.Adds more drama to the NU OSU game. Flint was rumored for a PW job last year, maybe he’d consider this. If he knocks off 2 or more wcha teams it would only bolster his case.
Like I said, the university/athletic dept has already decided it isn't paying what it costs. Not correct, the fundraising for a new arena has officially begun but we're told unless a mega donor steps up it will take several years to bring in enough funds.
I don't know where you get your info but you're 100% wrong.Like I said, the university/athletic dept has already decided it isn't paying what it costs.

The official timetable for construction to begin is 4-5 years unless a large donor steps up to advance it. People on forum are only getting their info off the Internet about it. Myself and a few other Ohio State people on forum actually know what's going on with it.I know sourcing some person on the internet isn't probably a good source but:
I read this as fundraising by individuals - not funded by the University (allocation of a budget/funds etc) - is that not correct? The University decided that "if some gracious individual wanted to pony up the cash fine - great even, but we aren't going to"
Out of idle curiosity, I decided to go to the Ohio State women's hockey website, to see what it might say about donations and a new arena, etc.The official timetable for construction to begin is 4-5 years unless a large donor steps up to advance it. That's must be a bug. I'm sure the intent is that it would take you to the contributions page for football.Click on women's hockey, and you are presented with a link to the "Women's Ice Hockey Program Support Fund". Click on the link, and you are taken to the contributions page for ... the Men's Soccer Program. LOL!
