Three-peat! I would have thought Mason did it at one point, but this is the first time in school history. There were three repeats in the CCHA days, but never three in a row.

This season is such a mystery. Gophers didn’t bring in any CHL guys, but there should still be enough talent to be better than this. Especially after last week’s series against Michigan. It’s not like there has been a slow slide either. They were conference champs last year.

That’s a trend SCSU had for a number of years while Motzko coached the team. We would be really good, then great, but not quite enough to get the NCAA trophy, and then a down year that just felt unexpected, and then the cycle would repeat.
 
I had a few interactions with him at WJ. Again, you could not find a nicer man than Bob, but I think he's lost any competitive edge. and I don't blame him, you just don't recover from the kind of thing he's been through. You can't just ignore Canada at this point, and I think the landscape has passed him by.

on a better note, one of my neighbor's kids was a hero in the state tournament already, and seeing some little kids on the block knock on his door to get his autograph is adorable
 
Moorhead is just too good. I think they roll tonka tomorrow, and I hope they do. Probably last game for Joey Cullen, as he's likely at USNDP next year, and he should be if he already has two state titles. That freaking family, man. Wyatt is already at USNDP.

Edina was never going to win that game, and no one should be sad about that. They are missing their top 3 forwards (all playing USHL) and they probably shouldn't have even made it this far.

and wow, I was using outdated info last week. Both under 18 and under 17 USNDP teams have a lot of Minnesotans on it. I love it. Teams like Edina and Moorhead clearly aren't too hampered losing these guys and they get better development.

Tons of OT games last night:

3OT: Bentley 4-3 over Mercyhurst
2OT: Air Force 3-2 over RMU
OT: Holy Cross 2-1 over RIT
St Thomas 2-1 over LSSU
Harvard 4-3 over St Lawrence
Duluth 4-3 over St Cloud

And two regular season Big Ten and both UCHC tournament games under regular season rules went to OT.
