Wisconsin Hockey 25-26 Hastings Year 3 - Turning the Corner?

March of '83, a friend and I stayed up at an overnight birthday party and stumbled on the replay of UW vs. The Sue in the WCHA playoffs. This may have been the first hockey game I ever watched. Game went into 3 OT's, and kept us up way past this 8 year olds bedtime! I don't know if it was the late night, or the gallon of Jolt we drank, but we hung onto every shift in OT like our lives depended on it. We had no clue what we were watching, didn't know the rules, but the electricity coming through the TV that night was never seen before. As soon as I could get $100 from mowing lawn together (20 lawns), I went downtown Appleton to the Walgreens and bought a black and white 13" TV. That allowed me to stay up late on the weekends, and watch the replays without my parents knowing. Still miss PB and Howie. I'm convinced my hatred for the FB team stems from the Saturdays when both teams were home, and PBS would play the football instead of hockey. Let's Go Red!
Now that's a great addition to this thread!

I think the time Knox and Phelan are getting are gonna pay dividends in the future. They've certainly shown some growth the last couple of months.

Maybe worth noting that tonight/tomorrow are the last consecutive games of the season no matter how far the badgers make it. Tonight they played a decent game start to finish and clearly had the fuel in the tank to respond to Penn State's punches. If the extra rest helps with that, it could be helpful in the playoffs.

Otherwise huge win for NCAA tournament hopes tonight, but also another huge game tomorrow too. I don't know if I would say I really hate Penn State, but it sure is fun to see them lose, especially in a game like tonight. Lets get another tomorrow!

Montgomery's penalty was just boneheaded. Ped St has too much talent for that and Bucky def got lucky.

PSU missed quite a few opportunities in the 1st and 1st half of 2nd. Got fortunate. D was outstanding at the end of the 2nd/3rd. Almost kept them completely on the outside in their zone and dominated puck possession in our O zone.

Was really impressed by play beneath the circles in our O zone.

Need that same level tonight, less any dumb penalties.

Best B1G+ announcers ever.

Cracking up here with all the lines that just roll off this guy's tongue.
Oh goodness, I was lazy and didnt sync Posick like I usually do. Student announcer was...ok. He kept pronouncing Pietela's name wrong, and every play was pandemonium...which made nothing pandemonium. Lol.

Hockey is one of those sports where one has to moderate announcing to describe the routine and then highlight the big plays with the emotion needed.

I still dont understand how I can pay $68 bucks for the Brewers on MLBtv all year and get either radio broadcast perfectly synched as part of that package, but the Big10 foists these stupid student announcers and camera operators on us via BTN+. It is truly mindboggling.

Blake Montgomery is an absolute idiot. He may cost them the game. WTF was he thinking?
He did get sticked in the nuts, but he can't retaliate. And the guy flopped like he was shot. But yeah stupid penalty. Don't get in it with these cheap shot artists.

He got clipped a bit.

Really nice win. Psu had to goon it up at the end
Yep, and he didn't even get a 5 for that cheap shot. Really hate Penn State. They are cheap shot artists all the time. End of the second the d crosschecked someone twice after the end of the period. Nothing.

Yeah, I hate Penn State. Their coach is a jack wagon and they are constantly cheap shotting to try and get a retaliation penalty. Time to feel the hate!
