BOSTON COLLEGE 2025 - 2026

Very bad period, BC is lucky it is only 2-0. Don't think there was a quality shot by BC in the first. Need to settle down and stop the BU fast break.

Horrendous start. One of the worst periods I've ever seen any team play at any level. They played like girls.

Not all that surprised to be honest.

BU foolishly taking penalties let BC back in it and sure, they were one shot away from tying it (see some examples below) but this team has serious problems and we all know it as much as some won't want to admit it. Conmy wide open net and shot it into the pad off a brilliant pass from Gasseau in the 2nd period on an early PP that was not successful. Resendes breakaway stuffed into the toe of goalie in the 2nd period. Sondreal passed on a rare 2-on-1 down low with a BU defender coming out of the corner and disrupting the pass across in the third period.

They rely on the PP too much and 5x5 offense is lacking. Keep working combinations until something clicks. Back on the bubble and must-win tomorrow. A resurgent UMass now on deck licking their chops.

Almost a 0% chance this team with this coach can string together 3 wins in Hockey East tournament and an absolute 0% chance they can string together 4 wins in the NCAA tournament if they even make it.

Turnovers still abundant highlighted by a Stiga drop pass inside his own blue line that was turned the other way by BU and a backward diagonal pass by Fortescue in the offensive zone to no one that ended up in the back of the net. These habits aren't going to stop now. I'm a big proponent of just going with the high lobs at the D and looking for a bounce if there's nothing available (see Hemming GWG goal a few weeks ago).

Jellvik was back but on the fourth line. Given the reports of his injury he's likely going to need some time to even get his conditioning back.

Does this team practice? Aside from the PP, it doesn't look like they practice at all.

it's like they played like the coach gave them the NIGHT OFF. Typical BC lack of energy and dumb as nails penalties.
Yet despite that, they're only down 2-1 and played with no sense of urgency. Once again Stiga gives up a lame turnover in his end but at least it didn't lead to a goal this time.

Will it be one and done in the HE tournament again ? Like last year ? You'd think after sweeping UConn they would come out like razors. BUT no, the coaches are not doing their job tonight. Every now and then, it doesn't hurt to have a little Jackie Parker in you Greg.

Conmy has been set up several times lately and has misfired all his one timers. If he could be more accurate he would have a half dozen more goals by now. That is where Hagens excels on the PP; he is accurate on his one timers quite often. Resendes has been getting chance because of his speed. He needs to put the puck up and away not always trying to jam it in low. Sondreal was actually on a 2 on 0 rush with the BU defender close behind. He needed to take the shot. I think his lack of scoring lately affected his decision.

A bounce back win tonight and second place in Hockey East will be nicely settting up for BC. First place is out of reach even with 3 wins and 2 PC losses due to the PC tiebreaker win.

Good point! As for Conmy - he did have a wide open one-timer which he fell down on and also got caught watching Eiserman on the ENG and allowed the pass across. I feel like him and Vote should swap 2nd and 3rd line RW duty... bring Jellvik up to the third line with Moore centering and you may have the crafty Jellvik able to get some 5 on 5 scoring chances for Conmy. He has 2 even strength goals with a goalie in between the pipes all season. He's feasting on the PP which is nice but this team needs 5 on 5 offense (Conmy is -1) and more possession if they want to have any chance in the postseason, which already will be in peril due to the faceoff issue.

What do people think of Michael Hagens and Joyce as 7th and 6th D and scratching Skahan? Or even ice team being doled out by the D in general? Joyce 6+ mins last night. Kostadinski 10 mins last night. Someone on D needs to step up and be able to take more minutes. Gustafsson already is being given way more time than he can handle, he was -3 last night and +1 on the year.

Anyone know if tickets for tonight are still available? Just found out I can go
2 1/2 hours before game time has about 250 tickets left. One pair lower level for $125 each, 1 triple in lower level for $100 each and the rest in the student upper level at $50 each. Go to bceagles.com under tickets. Students are on spring break now.

Tough , weekend. still a lot of hockey to be played but they had some serious defensive break downs tonight, However I forgot how good Jellvik is and he is great with Gasseau and Hagens. I think they will be a force heading into the post season.

Giving up 2 SH goals and one through the wickets says it all. Careless mistakes again. BC has become the laughing stock in football, hoops, and hockey not far behind.

Might as well sell my FF 4 ticket now. No way they're going to Vegas (

Anyone know what the status is for Greg Clown's contract? Eaglekeeper do you know?
I would think that after the national championship game appearance GB got a new 5 year deal. With BC needing to fire Earl Grant, bring in a new President, there is no way GB is going anywhere soon. He would need back to back losing seasons to get fired.

Starts at the top, when Leahy is replaced. Hopefully the new president will be better but we'll have to see if he will support athletics.

But I don't disagree about Brown. Not my first choice when he was hired. Crowley probably needs to be replaced too. What has she done lately after having many good teams and not winning the big games when the talent was there.
