I've been tempted to Bricklink the Green Grocer (I didnt get into the modulars until Brick Bank/Detectives Office, and I missed getting the Detective Office) because I wanted to remodel the grocery store on the first floor and to fill it in versus the empty shell the first few modulars were. And now with the Shopping Street set, brick prices may come down.

I have Grocery Store 60347 and wanted to incorporate it into the Green Grocer OR combine it with Service Station 60132 into a MOC modular Gas Station/Convenience store. But I don't want to go and buy a bunch of bricks for either idea if it's not going to work out.


Of the modulars, I have Parisian Restaurant (still in the box), Brick Bank, Corner Garage, Police Station, and Boutique Hotel (still in the box). I also have a MOC apartment from Rebrickable that actually looks decent for being "affordable" (lack of specialty bricks). Just need to still kit out the apartments.

Tudor Corner and Shopping Street are on my wishlist.

Shopping Street is now the only one I don't have. I have a moc brownstone that is bare inside and I did a little food truck square. I have intentions of doing a moc modular after I finish this next round of sorting. I'm just not sure what yet.

I need the weather to get better so I can get back out on these. The Triumph (red) is the one we inherited from my father-in-law after he passed 5+ years ago. The Kawasaki (green) is my pre-tariff splurge I got last spring that is ridiculously fun to ride. Trying to continue my father-in-law's requirement that you get out at least once per month on the bike. I've been able to keep that up thus far, got my January ride in a couple of weekends ago, but so far February is looking brutal. Need it to get to the high 40s, preferably 50s at some point.

Aparch - I like that you are doing "active" town type displays. I have wanted to do that too but limitations on the space I have prevent it. I am hopeful that I can someday move into a house that has more of the things I need/want for hobbies and a large open basement area is right at the top so I can do a larger city display and actually have the room to make a real street and what not.

Sure, They're a Blast...But are Bazookas, Mortars and Other Destructive Devices Legal?

While a variety of heavy weapons like bazookas, rocket-propelled grenades, and mortars were common infantry weapons, the legality of owning them today is a question that needs to be answered before buying one for your collection.

Thinking about picking up a SBS myself, since the NFA tax is now $0 as of Jan 1. You know, for a thing.

Aparch - I like that you are doing "active" town type displays. I have wanted to do that too but limitations on the space I have prevent it. Thanks, but they're mostly just posed for the photos then stored away. Tried dabbling in being a Lego/Toy photographer, and have lots of ideas rattling around, but just never committed fully to it.

I do like the level of storytelling that can be made with such simple snapshots and quick poses. A couple turned heads and Batman and Robin look clueless. A union snack break with just one guy still working elicits a "yup, looks normal," feeling.

Just remember, once you do get them you "lost them in a boating accident."

The biggest concern I would have riding a motocycle (not that I do at all..) in the winter time in an area that actually has winter, is the other car drivers are never expecting to see a motorcycle. It's bad enough when they are clueless in the summer time...

I live in a college town, so as much as there aren't any out at the moment, motorcycles are probably more common here than a lot of other places in northern states. Definitely saw a few out and about when we had our last spell of 50 degree weather.
