BU Hockey '25-'26: Can we keep up the run to Vegas?

This team is so frustrating.
- I honestly think this team would be better without Hutson. He is extremely overrated at this point. Hobey candidate? Are people watching the games? He has been a turnover machine most of his BU career and whether it's injury related or not, his recent play is even worse. It's tolerable when he is scoring and making great plays, but when he's not, it's not worth the risk of his giveaways. I'm just not a fan of the vibe he gives off. He doesn't hustle, and he slows things down too much on offense, the team doesn't know where he is going with the puck. And then when he scores an OT winner against a lower ranked team that actually won the weekend (Northeastern), he wants to go celebrate in their faces. I hate that.
- Perhaps related, Eiserman is struggling. I don't know what it is, but it's just not happening for him. I do appreciate that he is hustling and trying to do other things, but when you are a one-weapon player, it's easier for teams to neutralize you, and they have been.
- Call me an old curmudgeon, but that fight was the dumbest thing I've seen in a while. I actually mistakenly thought for a minute - oh no, Boiverst is from the CHL he doesn't know this is going to result in missing at least the next game, possibly more. Then I remembered, no, he's not a CHL player. And then he raises his arms at the end thinking that the fans are excited that he did what he did. I mean, if Eddy or whatever his name is had taken a run at Big Mike and injured him, then maybe?? But just because he and Eddy had a beef, he thinks a fight is the way to go. I would REALLy like to know what JP thought of, but as Bomber pointed out, nobody asked in the presser, incredibly. Also, Boisvert is too easily muscled off the puck during actual play. He needs to bulk up.
- Morello, Merrill, and Rouk are the guys on this team that are worth the price of admission. They work their butts off. I mean the chance of them forcing a turnover on the forecheck is 300% higher than the rest of the team - they ENGAGE their opponent, and make them pay the physical price for making a play. It just doesn't happen enough with the rest of the forwards. Last season we had guys up and down the lineup that played that way and that is what you need to be able to beat good teams.
- I agree that Ritchie looked good last night. He too needs to get stronger. He usually loses puck battles.
- I am still confident that Lawrence will be a contributor this season. We have been spoiled by witnessing two of the most dominant 17-year old freshmen in college hockey history in Eichel and Macklin. Tynan is even younger than they were (turns 18 in August, Macklin was June and Eichel October I think). He doesn't look out of place at all. He just isn't dominating. His draft stock will likely fall which is not a bad thing, as it means he will definitely be back next season (he certainly might have been coming back anyway).
- Any shot of an at-large bid went out the window last night (thanks guys, I have may Vegas tickets, flights, hotels, everything...). Can they win the HE tournament to get in? Sure, but not unless they figure out how to consistently play the way they have to. A nice rebound win tonight would be a good start...

Well, just added Tsongas to my arenas I won’t be going to again. They refused me entry because my pocketbook was about an inch bigger than what they now currently allow. Not sure when or why it changed. I’ve brought that pocketbook with me to Tsongas for the last 10 years. It’s a cross body. I’m still hobbling with a crutch post surgery and the walk from my car in the garage took about 15 minutes. I think they did a crap job clearing the sidewalks and curb entry so it took me a bit. If I had to go back to my car and go back I would’ve missed most of the first period. So I left. Thankfully the garage was nice enough to give me back my money.

Great post. I nodded a lot reading it.

This is the answer. To get relevant in the NPI need to reel off at least 5 wins in a row.
I hope we don’t get relevant in NPI… 17 after the win. Sneak in with a 4 then get shhhmoked by a touchdown courtesy an actual team that plays hard because a couple of the Prima Donnas got promised an NHL game end of season so they can put it on their instagram and make a hype video? No thanks.

…... Who gives up the puck like that on the PP.
geez jofa, you of all people can’t tell mookie you forgot all about out Chris Bourque breaking his stick manning the left point at the garden vs uhn…..and just stupidly skating to the bench, allowing a stunned uhn forward to gleefully skate down the ice where they scored the shorty to put the game out of reach 🫣🫣
