Boston College Women's Hockey '25-'26: It's The Hope That Kills You

Home from Boston. Super fun game and played well enough in the third to win but couldn't capitalize on the chances and NU turned the screws late. Bummer but encouraging effort I thought.

I have to get a clip of the NU player who went down like a sack of bricks in the corner after the whistle after getting tapped in the chest. One of the funniest flops I have ever witnessed. Have some self-respect, ma'am.

Yeah agreed, she's turned it on especially lately. I think she was either WHEA or national goalie of the month for November or something?

You have to admit it is pretty funny that every time you've called someone out lately they've immediately given you a rebuttal lol

Sick goal today for those who missed it:

Also for what it's worth I wouldn't agree that she's been a nonfactor; I've felt her chemistry with Thomas has been great and they've been real good together.

Not a freshman but Tremblay is a ROCK SOLID player. Really really enjoy her game and she stood out this weekend in particular for me.

Agree with the other freshmen being nice adds. Thomas is just a capital D Dawg though, man; what an absolute thunderbolt. I swear she plays 45 minutes a game, too.

Idk, they block a *ton* of shots. Not really their usual M.O. but it has worked for me. I definitely wouldn't say it's hard to watch but that's just my opinion. They aren't as irresponsible throwing bodies forward as they have been in the past but they also don't have the personnel to do that anymore anyway.

Lastly, a small throwback for those of you who have known Joe and me from nearly 20 years of this. Dug out my old BC blanket we used to use as a banner while we were students and brought it to the last ever game at Matthews today. Fun little callback to the before-time in the long-long-ago...

A game from freshman year 2006, and today:

Now that is fantastic ! That blanket has some serious mileage on it.

Home from Boston. . . . . . the last ever game at Matthews.

Sorry to muscle in T3, but there’s no place with higher visibility to call the attention of the outside world to the remarkable story of this historic barn, in which both BC and Harvard played their part. I’m not sorry that the Huskies went out in style, given the occasion, and you still have at least two more chances to set things right.

Here’s the link for those who don’t know that everybody and their grandmother, except the Red Sox, played at Matthews: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matthews_Arena

BC just lost to Holy Cross. I believe they have now lost 5 in a row. Here we go again with the annual Kinger 2nd half of the season collapse.

Are you getting tired of this @TonyTheTiger20 ? Or do you still think we are headed in the right direction ?

Does anybody remember the definition of insanity ? Let me see if I can look it up on my Chat GBT.

They better beat Harvard

Had never lost to Holy Cross before last year and now have lost 3 of 5 to them over last two years.

Went from something like 21-0 to 23-3

Weird how that works out, was offered a slot on the ESPN+ broadcast for that game this afternoon (presumably before the location change) and then it gets moved here.

I'm still having a hard time processing what I watched on Friday night. No response from my man Tony which is highly unusual. My guess is is he is just as ticked off as I am but unfortunately he would never admit it to me.

BC is now 4th in Hockey East. I know many people on this board think that is ok. I do not.

BC's power play is 8 for 67. Is that good ? What coach is running that ? Maybe Kinger could find an assistant coach that could actually help her

As many of you know I have been talking about the lack of development for many of BCs top players over the last 6-7 years. How many times have I talked about top recruits that come to BC and light it up for a year or 2 and then by the time they graduate we are all asking " what happened " ? How did that player actually get worse by the time they graduated

Well keeping that thought in mind, can anyone possibly explain what is going on with #14 ? She has 2 goals this year. That is not a typo. After her freshman season I thought she was a legitimate all American candidate. A certain USA Olympic team candidate. Is she hurt ? How could she possibly have 2 goals with the ice time she gets.

And #24 looked like another potential great player. I think she has 1 goal this season.

I'm trying to stay optimistic. Hey if we beat a lousy Harvard team like we should and win the Beanpot this year we can turn this entire season. But then again what if we don't .....

definition of insanity ? Can someone please help me here please ?

Another humiliating loss tonight against against one of the worst Harvard teams that I've ever seen.

Out coached. Out worked. I have no words. I'm really pissed. These girls deserve so much better.

I will need to decompress and come back with some thoughts tomorrow.

We need a new coach. Its time. Come on Blake James get your head out of your arse. This is Boston College

Post game thoughts

  • A new low for me RE BCWIH. I cant believe we are this bad again.
  • 8 years in a row with no Beanpot. Embarrassing.
  • Are we ever going to play in a Beanpot final at TD Garden? Does anyone care. Consolation games are for losers
  • 6 losses in a row is really hard to believe
  • The BC bench management is a joke. Total gong show. First Harvard goal was vs BC 4th Line
  • BC didn't even know who to put on the ice late in game. They thought is was 6 on 5 when it was 5 on 4 . Pathetic
  • The BC assistant coached are clueless. Why cant King find someone who actually knows what they are doing.
  • Would Crowley ever bring her husband on the bench ? He's got to be better than this and he was a great defenseman !
  • Where did you go Courtney Kennedy ?
  • The BC defense is horrendous. I have no idea what has happened to 19 and 12. Both looked so good when they first arrived,
  • why is 13 on the ice at all never mind key situations like the winning goal.
  • I'm assuming 14 is hurt. Has to be.
  • BC bench almost looked like they expected to lose that game last night. Unacceptable
  • are some of BC's young players really doing to stay ? Why would they stay at BC ? Everyone who plays here GETS WORSE !
  • There isn't a doubt in my mind that if BC posted this job we would get some of the best candidates in women's hockey to apply.
  • the right coach could fix this in 2-3 years
Has anyone seen @TonyTheTiger20 ? Maybe he's finally starting to come around on this ?

We need a change. We need a change badly. I cant imaging there is a person in the world that wouldn't agree with me.

He did post right before you... Was kinda comparing bc to northleastern but that was probably tongue in cheek.
In fairness to him the ads on this message board make it a bit of a nightmare to scroll through lol

For what it's worth, us STILL not qualifying for a Beanpot final at the Garden is one of my biggest frustrations.

Maybe you guys can tell me if I got this right. According to the Beanpot Booth Belles (whose competence puts the Bright Boys to shame), when Crowley challenged a no-call on a possible Harvard boarding, the refs only had two choices: confirm a major or declare no penalty. They decided for the latter. But why review a possible major penalty (which was under their noses) while discounting the possibility that they missed a minor penalty? I think it was a clear minor, but maybe those, by definition, are unchallengeable? If so, a rule like this seems designed to cover the refs assets: that is, "There's nothing to see here," despite the premise of the challenge being a possible major.
