Eye test report. The first period was a thing of beauty. The first line especially was absolutely fantastic. When they are in the offensive zone, the forwards were move continuously creating all sorts of chaos and scoring chances. It reminded me of the old Russian Olympic team. It was really cool seeing an all freshmen forward power play. Montgomery has such a fast 0 to 60 time. It's ridiculous. Hauser wasn't tested much, but boy is he quick. Wow. It's hard to understand why he doesn't start all the games. Horbach seems to have gotten faster. Maybe it's just his energy level. Impressive nonetheless. They played a very solid defensive game, the kind you need in a tight game like that because if they had a couple bad mistakes and ended up being down it could have been worrisome.
I was disappointed with the second period. Shots were 9 to 9. They weren't generating near the pressure they had in the first. Maybe that's attributed to Anchorage getting their feet under them and figuring things out a bit, maybe they took the foot off the gas a bit for some strange reason. Obviously in the third they were able to turn up the wick again and they played like they did in the first period and we got to go home with quite the hockey buzz.
I really love buying tickets where there's nobody around me and my daughter and I can just spread out and really kick back and relax and watch the game and not be packed in there like sardines. We aren't small people lol.
