1. I think that they might be paying something
2. The Americans are gaining tremendously
3. They're gaining through national security
4. Look, I'm ending war because of these tariffs

It's as if the imbecilic half of his brain is trying to work with the lying sociopath half of his brain to fool anyone willing to listen into buying what he's selling.

Last year, I started listening to the Revolutions podcast by Mike Duncan. The English Civil War was the first season. There a relationship between the king desloving parlament and Trump's tarrifs today.

One of the main reasons of the civil war besides reglion was the Poundage and Tonnage tax the king was given power to have to maintain the Navy. This tax was the power to tarrif in England and his subjects.

The Parlament wanted to take away the powers because he was getting into to many wars causing debt and the landed elite was getting powerful because of Parlament. Which lead to the king using the funds of the tarrifs to bankroll the civil war.

This shutdown can continue for the admin if the Supreme Court says that the executive branch has the power to tarrif. He will no longer need Congress to levy taxes. He will have money to find a private army at his control.

The Coup is here. Trump and the Republicans not agreeing on ending the shutdown. They know they would never get 60 votes in the Senate for the BBB. The Republicans won't break the filibuster. Republicans always intended to go into shutdown to make the king have his poundage and tonnage tax. The government can't fund the entirety of services on tarrifs but they can fund ICE, DHS, CIA, NSA, FBI all for transforming the government to become a police state.

Hopefully the Supreme Court says he doesn't have the power to tarrif. That disastrous ruling will be the end of what little democracy we have left."

The coup started on 1/20/25…really on 11/5/24 when the ignorant electorate of this country re-elected him.

I don’t get it. Am I the only one who doesn’t care what Trump says? The media continues to act shocked, even the real journalists and shit on Bluesky, and for what? Why is it so shocking what’s happening? He laid it out there. We knew it was going to happen before he won on 11/5. We watched a coup attempt on 1/6/21 and we still voted for him again. Geezus Christ, I feel like fucking Will Ferrell’s character Mugatu from Zoolander or something. “They’re all the same look!”

I'm there with you. Dump does not emit noises to provide information. He is an Emotions Organ. People who repeat his gibbering, whether happily or angrily, are doing his work. He uses them as his instruments. "That's me inside your head."

The way to fight this is to abstract Dump out. Define, frame, and fight the GOP's ideas and consequences. Treat Dump as if he is already a bloated gaseous corpse decomposing at the morgue.
 
Yep and they have a lot of loud megalomaniacs out there reminding the world they are doing it...even so much as saying they are doing it to hurt Dems and their voters.

Throwing Gatsby Parties while cutting SNAP and Health Care Subsidies resonates more than a bunch of blustery talk and whining about DEI.

Not at all. Just as how people rationalized bloodletting failures for centuries (“wow, the patient was so sick, not even bloodletting could save them”), conservatives just say, “See how bad the Biden economy was? Not even Trump can get it turned around!”

Read the story that this post is quoting. The treatment at Broadview is horrific and if we don't arrest everyone when we take back power then we are complicit.
