I watched some of it tonight and they (and Wisky) looked slower than I expected. Did Minnesota just not hit the CHL like the rest of the top programs?
Didn’t hit it at all, even after being hit with more departures than expected. Motzko likes the guys he recruits and he stuck with em to fill out the roster. Isn’t working out.

That is too bad. WMU only has one player from the WHL, otherwise it was all the usual USHL, or D1 transfers. That said, WMU has a few more CHL players committed so idk. I'm surprised that the Gophers didn't try to get some Minnesota kids from the WHL to come back home. Is Motzko in danger for not recruiting or is the fanbase OK with not taking CHL kids?

Quite a few fans have expressed their dismay over him ignoring the CHL while others were saying, "let it play out". Unless this team rebounds greatly there will be hard decisions to make because Bob has some wicked-good recruiting classes the next few years.

It seemed like the seat was warm over the post season results. Then cooled substantially with all the recruiting wins this summer. But I’d imagine this start has turned the heat up again.

Trying to figure out why Minnesota-Wisconsin is a Thurs/Sat series. Figured it had to be Wisconsin football playing a Friday night game, but they have a bye. Then saw Nebraska-Wisconsin volleyball played last night in Madison, which given how big those two programs are it would make sense to bump because that would be an automatic sellout, but they didn't play that at the Kohl Center. Hopefully there are more people there tonight, it was weird seeing the stands so empty for that game on Thursday.

Honestly feels like they wanted to avoid Halloween. Which I don’t think really worked, because no one was there anyway. I know quite a few people that usually go to this series that didn’t because of the day in between. People don’t want to go to just one game, or pay for an extra night in a hotel to go to both right now.

Discounting the Ivies because they just started this weekend, there is only one undefeated team remaining in Wisconsin at 6-0-2 and two winless teams with Mercyhurst at 0-9 and NMU at 0-10.

That's what I told my dad about the UM/WMU series being split Thurs/Sat. Pretty sure it's about TV slots.
Originally the series was scheduled to be a Fri/Sat series, with Michigan hosting Friday, and Western on Saturday. It was moved to Michigan Thursday, and Western Friday. My guess is UM wanted to put their game on the BTN, and WMU decided they didn't want a day off between games so moved the Lawson game to Friday.

I think it's safe to admit that I'm starting to understand how it felt to be an MTU fan in the 00's 😭
