Potty simply isn't here in good faith norbie, he's just here to troll. He has every right to do so, but likewise, he is not entitled to any respect either. Good for you, not engaging further when the ability to test his veracity - demonstrably questionable as it already is - is buried, while he tries to hold you to a higher standard.

His buddy @spankyfromumaineoopsnh, either cannot differentiate between opinions and analysis, or is just being a disingenuous troll. Probably both.

It would be fun to meet up with both at a UNH game sometime this season (or anytime in the future?) just to test their schtick out a little bit ... back in the day, there were wars on here between UNH and UMaine posters, even more so between UNH and BC posters. We all eventually met, and surprisingly it was a blast. Didn't stop us from going at it again on the board afterwards, but at least there was some "Marquis of Queensbury" in place. And some grudging respect as well.

I'd have long ago blocked both of these chuckleheads, but I've never given anyone that honor before, I'm certainly not going to start with them, neither deserve any modicum of respect at this point. They're like snipers, except they're blind with terrible aim. Plus, it's fun to blast potty for his latest dumb UNH predictions, and you can tell it's just killing @spankyfromumaineoopsnh that he's had to move to NH. I guess the welfare benefits in NH are better than they are in Maine ...

I get your point, Darius. UNH has historically shown a lot of patience for certain coaches, in certain sports. I hope you would at least agree that the patience extended to MS7 has exceeded (by far) the patience extended to Coaches Holt and Umile, both who were incredibly successful for many, many years, but both basically were asked to walk the plank after a relatively short (and in Umile's case, far less precipitous) downturns in the Hockey program's fortunes, no?!?

And as a follow-up to that ... I understand Coach Holt and Coach Umile were approaching whatever "retirement age" might have been, either in their own minds and plans, those of their respective AD's and/or USNH rules, which Coach Souza isn't even close to. But what has MS7 done to deserve all the extra time he's been given?

Never, ever said "just trust me". What I post on here is either opinion, analysis, or information which I've secured from trusted sources. I trust them, and that's based on the accuracy of what other things they've told me in the past. If they have proven to be reliable sources (to me) in the past, I have no reason to believe they are lying or making stuff up, especially when I form my own opinion on whether the new information is credible or jibberish. If you choose not to believe my sourced material, that is 100% up to you, and if you choose not to believe it, I frankly could not care less. It's not something I offer here on a regular basis.

Your inability to pick up simple nuanced thought like this points to a sub-70 IQ, go look it up to determine the implications @spankyfromumaineoopsnh :LOL:

as fascinating as this cat fight has been to witness, that's ridiculous coming from the person with the worst personal security on the entire forum. you literally have your face as your icon (and maybe your username is your full name? which is also really dumb) and this is a thread for fans of a college hockey team, so presumably you have been at games together at some point. im afraid you are unlikely to be hard to find in this one niche community.
 
Buford talking about what’s creepy is lol. Yeah, I’ve met him but so what? His Lord of UNH hockey act needs a check. Same for Norbert. Most UNH hockey fans are salt of the earth. But creeps like those two need a good poke.

So, just because I choose to participate in an open, honest and good faith basis, that warrants sketchballs coming onto the site to make scurrilous and at times libelous comments about me?!? Thus limiting my opportunity to comment back knowingly?? What color is the sky in your world??? I hope if you ever end up in some court of law, where you are a defendant, you don't get to find out who your accuser(s) are, and have no opportunity at cross-exam. Wowser.

Why are you making this an issue of "worst personal security" when someone cloaked in anonymity claims we have "met"? You do understand, there is a slight difference between "met" and "saw you mouthing off in passing on the concourse of The Whitt"??

It’s so funny how posters come on here and take nasty shots at Souza and kids like Conmy but can’t take any heat themselves. These posters are such cowards and blowhards. The essence of a bully is a person that can throw a punch but can’t take one.

not at all. i quite frankly don’t care about any of the things going on in this cat fight beyond a fascination like i’m watching a nature documentary. i’m merely pointing out leaps in logic like that one are ridiculous, just like the leaps in logic you also made about my intentions in your reply. those are also fascinating to dissect, mr “sworn enemy of the perpetually offended”.

This is not a job it is a forumn. If I was getting $240K+ a year and not succeeding then criticism is valid. 91 wins in 7 years equates to $18K per win. I can take a punch but your "punches" are equivalent to a 3rd grader with the name calling. Have a real discussion.

Your obsession with his salary is so sad, and perhaps it sheds light on your real motives. You CLEARLY have never anywhere near that salary; if you did, you'd realize it's not big money at all. If Buford and you ever made it to $100K it's only in the last few years. The envy and scorn re: Souza's salary would be lol if it wasn't such a sad commentary on the financial failings of some posters here.

Commentary on Souza's decisions is certainly fair and appropriate but some posters have gone way too far. He's not in any way a villain.

As for discussions, I've started some good ones.

Glad that you are so wealthy, it obviously has made you a complete douche. Again you go to I make more so my word is god. What did/do you do that makes you so much money?

There is no envy at all, this is about performance and value. One year ended up with another 3 year contract, no renovation, and falling further behind. If you accept another sub-500 season, bottom 3 of HE, then you don't understand the purpose of sports.

No question Souza got handpicked by Umile to be his successor. Very good argument that was a mistake. Nevertheless, the program was headed downward when he got it. A poorly funded program, with increasingly antiquated facilities at a state school run by a state that literally prides itself in under-funding its flagship state school. Pretty bad recipe for success. He has turned out to, up to this point, not be someone who can do more with less, which is the motto of UNH and the entire State of New Hampshire.

It's just annoying to read posts by people that are frankly too cheap and stupid to properly fund their own state school complain about the poor results from their state school - whether it's academic or athletic. In general you get what you pay for in life. It's also tiresome to read the rantings from the same deadbeats arguing that SOMEONE OTHER THAN THEM should solve the problem. In other words, wealthy donors should basically fund the program. Obviously said wealthy donors ordinarily include Massachusetts residents.

If the program doesn't have the money, don't beat up the coach. The problem is with the taxpayers. UNH is a STATE school.

A better transition plan might have kept this team relevant, but Marty mailed it in and left us in this spot. Sununu screwed the state by lower the business and rooms and meals tax. The current governor would rather strip the state instead of revert at least some of them.

Putting the meals tax back to 9% is roughly worth $20M in revenue, which solves a lot of budget holes.
