Wisconsin Women's Hockey 2025-2026

I believe that Mikayla Zilisch's brother Connor just won a NASCAR race (rain-shortened), the XFinity series race at Dover. At least, I am assuming that the Connor Z who won the race is the same Connor mentioned in Mikayla's Badger bio.
That's her brother!? He is a racing phenom. He's definitely going to be famous someday.

Mikalya's UW bio page says her mother's name is Leann, and they're from Appleton. The driver's Wikipedia page says his mother is named Janice, and she competed for Canada as a gymnast at the 1983 World Championships. And that he was born in North Carolina.

Mikayla's brother played lacrosse at Canisius

Well, at least my "wrong Connor" error was a good distraction! And we learned something about the Zilisch family. All in good spirits.

If I had to choose between being an obscure college lacrosse player and a person famous for turning fossil fuels into noise, I would opt for the former.

This morning, I see neither of the recent Ohio State feeds on the forum. Did anyone else notice this? Maybe it's just me.
No, it's not just you. They're gone.

I did a search for users HockeyBuckeye, Sierra, and UNDfan65 and all three user accounts still exit. And you can see their posts to other comment threads. But none of their posts to those two threads.

This happened once before (that I'm aware of). When user ReggieDunlap kept posting stuff on the prior year's Boston College thread instead of the current year's thread, Grant - aka TonyTheTiger - simply deleted the thread. Which he was able to do, because he had been the one who started or created the thread.

I'm guessing HockeyBuckeye must have done likewise to the 24-25 Ohio State thread and the 25-26 OSU thread.

------------

He could confirm for us, as he is on the forum right now, as I type.

As a ICE racing enthusiast and a Mustang owner, I love those tiny explosions inside those hunks aluminum or other material.

What is this like a D positioning drill? Gotta close time and space at all times.
If the purpose of the drill is to get the human population back down to forty breeding pairs like the last time something like this happened, I’d say that’s some kind of shutdown defense.

Hey, when will season tickets become available? The ticket office has been remarkably silent.

It is disconcerting that ads are now embedded in our comment areas. I know ads are necessary, and I appreciate a free site, but I wish the ads would stay out of our comments.

With no notice at all - I've just been checking daily - season tickets went on sale this morning.

$192 (plus $20 "processing fee") for regular general admission - $12 per game.

AND "reserved seating" for sections 3,4,5 - center ice behind the benches, past blue line to blue line - for $320, or $20 per game.

Tim will not be happy. Will the "We Want More" people stay in their regular seats? How many empty seats in those sections, giving a 'bad look" on TV/video stream?

Still no announced schedule shown. Because the prices are for 16 games, either there's no "Fill The Bowl", or it is included in the 'regular' price.

------------

Email announcement arrived a few minutes after I had checked and seen sale had begun.

Tim will pay up so he can bring his "We love Sierra😍" sign to the OSU games.

The announcement said 16 general admission tickets for $192. My understanding is that the so-called icebreaker tournament does not count toward the maximum number of games and gives MJ the option of scheduling two more non-conference games.

It looks like if that happens, they will be away games or like with the fiasco in Chicago last year two home games, which may or may not actually be at home, for an additional charge.

Can anyone share insights into how this will play out?

I would feel a lot better about getting stuck with higher ticket prices if I knew the extra money would flow back to the women’s hockey program. Unfortunately, it is more likely that the popularity of the eight-time national champions is being (ab)used to subsidize failing men’s teams.

At this point, I am ambivalent about the reserved seating idea. If it results in empty seats behind the benches and a scramble for seats in other sections, I will not be happy.
