University of Maine 2024–2025: Freel-ing good

Can have 4 total coaches, which is where they are at now. This is likely an indication one of the current assistant coaches is moving on. Since Eric Soltys is in charge of recruiting, it seems he is moving on if they are bringing in another coach that is known for recruiting. The only way it would seem he wouldn’t be doing this is if O’Connor is interested in the hockey operations side of this. Then this could mean Nick Fonzi is moving on. It appears as though O’Connor was doing both assistant coaching and player scouting for Mt. Saint Charles.
It could be simply an additional staff member, no? He is not technically coming in as a coach.

Where did you see he what he is coming in as? In the Divver tweet he only said he was joining Maine staff. I only saw the Divver tweet.
Your correct I misunderstood what I had read, missed the joining the coaching staff part. Was thinking the rumor was for a new staff position for some reason.
I should leave the phone alone during cocktail hour.

Something to consider. The portal is now open again for Mich. Tech. and Lindenwood players.
Plus Harvard international players may be fair game, but that's yet to be seen.

Swayman caps off an undefeated run (7-0, 1.69 GAA, .921 SV%) with a 1-0 shutout to help deliver the first Worlds gold medal for Team USA since 1933.

I'd say it would help silence the Bruins fan doubters but then I remember just how many of them were quick to throw Rask under the bus any chance they got.

Maine hockey Twitter feed had been announcing new additions once per day except for on the weekends and on Memorial Day. Today was the first day since they started where they didn’t announce a new addition. I noticed the only one they didn’t announce that we were expecting is Loic Usereau. He also isn’t listed as a recruit for Maine on heisenberg’s list. Makes me wonder if Usereau pulled his commitment and that is why Coughlin was a surprise announcement on May 14th. Or did they just forget to announce Usereau?

I’ve also noticed no announcement of Usereau. I’m excited for him as well so hoping he hasn’t de committed.

Side note is his Instagram still has commitment announcement and he follows Maine hockey and they follow him. If that changes I’d consider him gone.

I know they were going in alphabetical order, that is why I expected his announcement today. Let’s hope it comes tomorrow.

Usereau decommiting would make sense. Holt, Langlois, Usereau, and Coughlin all at LD wouldn't make sense and if Holt was going pro I would think it would be announced by now. My hot take for next year's roster is that after the NHL draft Evan Van Gorp is announced to come in next year. Maine needs at least one more center and he has had a great year as a 4th line center on a stacked London team.

They may still be working through his eligibility then. The kids are pretty quick on socials these days.

It may be time for an offseason thread just to kill the time. I need a place to get off some hot takes about powder blue uniforms.
I bought a vintage sticker pack off eBay a few years ago, and I finally got them scanned this past weekend.

Will probably make a couple jersey concepts with these over the summer. It's been a while since I've mocked one up, but I loved the way that one turned out.
