Transfer Portal 2025

(It must be the time of the season: I made the first post to the 2024 version of this on March 5th last year. LOL)

Not everyone has to wait for the portal to 'open' to put their name in; grad transfers and players facing coaching changes can enter prior to the "one time transfer window", which opens March 16th.

Last year at this point, 22 names added to the list since the first of Feb, 2024; This year only four, with only two others in January. We'll have to see how many, or few, once the "one time" window opens.

Cornell broadcaster mentioned during a recent game that Ashley Messier would be heading to UMD next year as a grad transfer.

I see Jamie Nelson from Minnesota State is listed in the Portal...Certainly a good player but not sure how she would have any eligibility left.

18 games on 20-21, but that's the COVID half-season, so it doesn't count.
Then only two games in 21-22, so I assume a 'medical hardship' year.
Then full seasons the last three years.
One year remaining.

Not portal related, but is this the final year of fifth-year seniors?
Except for the 'occasional' redshirt/medical hardship person - like Jamie Nelson, above - fifth-year COVID seniors should be done as of this month.

A player who played during the COVID 2020-21 half-season would then have played '22,'23,'24,'25, using up their four years of eligibility.

Cool, thanks.

Some interesting players led by the Gadzik sisters (Julianna and Jenessa) from Minnesota State have entered the portal in the last couple of days. Will be interesting to see where they wind up.

I'm just happy to see Bemidji hasn't been ripped to shreds yet.... Grace Delmonico showed enormous potential in HS, curious where she might end up.
