Overall purple. Dallas and its suburbs are blue and purple, Fort Worth and its suburbs are purple and red (one of them is called White Settlement, FFS).

Ah. Cool. Is Dallas actually diverse like Houston? Or is it white people with a decent education who are starting to come around on stuff like post-1400 geology and germ theory (i.e., Portland)?

I have heard SA has a lively arts scene.

While I'm not super on board with race being necessary to find the best neighborhood.... it's an interesting graphic.

here's another from wiki

Interesting difference in racism. Southern red hats hate blacks because they're neighbors (anger). Northern red hats hates blacks because they've never met them (fear).

Also interesting that Navajo nation is the least white place in the US.

Have you ever been to NE Arizona? The Navajo people have lived there for so long, they're the only ones who know how to make the most of it.

I have not. I think it would be really presumptuous of me to go there. I suspect they really, really like being the place with fewest whites and I don't want to spoil that.

I was an invited guest and enjoyed the visit (but was in far NW NM, not AZ). My great-uncle is married to the daughter of a Navajo official (they don't use 'chief').

If you can appreciate stark landscape for its raw, natural beauty, it's fabulous.

I would love to go there, it's my favorite kind of terrain.

Dr. Mrs. went out to the Navajo Nation to visit a friend when she was in her teens and it changed her life. She was so infuriated by what we had done to those people she has been an axe-wielding SJW ever since and I love her for it.

Look up The Long Walk sometime if you ever want to make your blood boil.

I had a desert trip planned for last April that got cancelled thanks to covid. Included on the itinerary was a visit to Canyon de Chelly National Monument, with reservations for a lodge at the monument operated by the Navajo, and a canyon trip with a Navajo guide. I really need to reschedule this.

That one I know (see: great-uncle's wife).

Trail of Tears (awesome < rolleyes > idea to force Seminoles, Floridians by geography today, to Oklahoma)
Internment Camps (for Japanese, Germans, Italians, your pick)

Not the finest hours.

Yeah, but if you teach kids that the US did bad things, then you're a communist traitor.
