Business, Economics, and Taxes: Eat Cereal for Dinner

Dude had a sense of drama.

The words "deny," "defend" and "depose" were discovered by detectives on the shell casings found at the scene where Thompson was killed, police sources told ABC News late Wednesday evening.

Comments:

Was he taken to an in-network hospital? Was his deductible met prior to this happening? Was the shooting pre-approved before taking place? I think all of these questions should be answered before any action is taken in this case.

Prior authorization is required for thoughts & prayers

"touched so many lives." by making millions off of their suffering. " incredibly loving father " who ruined the lives of so many families by denying their claims.

Take in billions in revenue and deny a third of your claims, people might come get you.

Remember, not all heroes wear capes; sometimes they wear a very distinctive gray backpack.

I’ve seen comment sections on multiple platforms about this story and they are all exactly the same, and that speaks volumes about how entirely screwed over we have been as a country by our healthcare system.

The Revolution will be live.

I have probably spent 4+ hours a week, uncompensated, arguing with insurance "doctors" to get my patients standard of care. I would bet the suspect list is quite long but would bet on someone who has been denied life saving care in a purely profit motivated way.

United is one of the worst. AI will auto deny. I write a letter of medical necessity, get denied. Request "peer" to peer. For the record, I rarely talk to a doctor who has the same primary board as myself and I have never talked to someone who holds my subspecialty board. I try to embarrass them, shame them, make them feel they will personally get sued.

My favorite things to say: "Can I ask what you are boarded in so I know what level of explanation I need to use to talk about this rare disorder?" "Can I get your full name and NPI so I can be sure to accurately document in my medical record who is practicing medicine on my patient in case of lawsuit?" "As I am sure you and your company are aware of current literature, do you have a process of updating standards to be up to date with the 21st century of medicine?" "I am happy this is being recorded, and I do encourage you to release our conversation to the public to see who they side with."

One of my mentors in Cleveland would use the line "You are only denying care because this patient is black." I have not used that yet.

My god, I want you as my doctor.

My wife's MS is always an opportunity for UHC to deny her care, and her neurologist always goes to bat for her. Her tone is caustic, menacing, yet precise. My wife always winds up with all her care approved, but there's always a battle and her doctor has sunk hours into it without compensation. You guys are f-cking heroes; thank you.

Agreed. You guys are amazing. And the lines WW used are brilliant.

It saddens me greatly that this is what our health care system has become. Thanks for fighting the good fight.

Apparently delay and deny were written on shell casings ejected from gun according to nyt article

Assassin used a silencer and an e-bike as his getaway vehicle. So he’s a thoughtful person who wanted innocent people to not suffer hearing loss and he’s environmentally conscious.

I like this guy.

If they were wearing a Human Rights Campaign shirt I will likely vote for them in the next election!

Those comments are... unsympathetic. "Send it to 0."

And my favorite, "If you're in crypto you're probably mentally ill."

Thank you for posting this. There are worlds out there I would never know existed if it weren't for the Cafe.

If you want to know how prevalent this stuff is I can send you a link to a guy who does a lot of investigations into this stuff. Its going to blow up again because Trump himself is running one.

Also, the fact that NYPD haven’t released a name and were desperately searching a hostel tells me that the guy is long gone.

Seeing the internet come together in support of this dude really has me wonder if there could be a whole "Underground Railroad" network being constructed to support these kinds of actions.

If so, **chef kiss**
