Josh isn't like that....he's a hockey player...and a tough/talented one at that.

I didn't say that he wasn't.....but it would help if he actually fell to the ice once in a while if someone committed an atrocity against him. If the refs aren't calling it because he's a "tough hockey player".....that really isn't helping the team gain a PP advantage.

Bottom line they are not making the calls...and he has got knocked on his butt several times and still no calls.

My biggest concern with Brad is that he has not improved over the course of the season. His stick handling and dangling are inferior to not only Josh, but also to Scholle, Breen, Charbrier and Brazeale. The concern is that his family advisor and/or Carolina might want him getting trained elsewhere.

yes, he is a superb talent, he picks pockets on the backcheck as well as Purcell, but I have not seen improvement except perhaps he is a bit more physical than at the beginning of the season

He has a long way to go. The key will be if he listens to coaches and other players with willingness and works every day to get better.

Breens lack of scoring is a puzzle, maybe looking too much to set someone up.

It is puzzling...thought he would thrive with #20 & #82...but I still have hope he brings his game up to what we know he can do....but he is still a factor..imo.

Thanks for the link. Watching now. We had gotten our season tixs that year. Already seen some familiar faces in the crowd..wow.
Was a wild game, so loud in the pre Alfond expansion days. More physical play allowed, whistle when puck is held against the boards, etc.
Memories…!!!

While we have down time until Friday, you might as well watch this beauty. I found the 2 OT Maine vs. Providence game in the ncaa quarterfinals, game 3 when Robitaille ends it on a backhander. I think old timers say this is the loudest they’ve heard the Alfond. https://youtu.be/jYidY1sMjCc?si=ZBYcEfwjPRqYIS5O

Truly one of the greatest games in Maine Hockey history. That shot by Pellerin to tie it might be the best laser ever, including Jacque Rodrique who had the best slapshot back when that shot was a big part of the game. And Robitaille's goal in OT! I remember watching it with rabbit ears all the way up on my TV from NH and it was like it was in slow motion as Martin moved across the crease and backhanded it in. The old Alfond was indeed rocking. If you have never watched this game fast forward to the third period and OT's. Skill is great, but goaltenders back then stayed on their feet and the skating was not what it is today. Having said that their were definitely some NHL players in that game. Thanks for sharing the link.

Interesting seeing Garth Snow on the bench his rookie year. Did he red shirt the 89-90 season due to a medical issue?

He actually played one series versus Michigan State with Rod Brindamour. We were in Orono for that weekend and both King and DelGuidice were injured. I believe we lost both games and if memory serves Garth played a year in Ontario the following year before returning.

I’m watching this as if it’s live. Good stuff. I’d forgotten how Shawn was like a Captain on the Bridge, overlooking his team, very noticeable up high on the bench. Weirdly, I remember the players names, even PC’s players more than the current teams players.
RIP to players, coaches and even some fans who passed on.
Rings a bell about Snows medical status. Heavier when he started at Maine. “Party on Garth”….

King had broken leg, Delguidice had cut above the knee from a skate. Snow was overweight, came back thin. I guessShawn told him to lose weight if he wanted to play
Wasted an hour this morning watching parts of that game, thanks for the link
dale duff was great on play by play. Bob jones, one of the pin head brothers as a lineman, and then Piotrotski as the ref, would have given him more shit if I had known : )

Todd Jenkins skating stands out and I wonder if he is the best skater Maine has ever had. Todd Jackson was a great skater too.

I always said Todd Jenkins skated so fast even the puck couldn't keep up with him, lol. Seriously fast though, but he handled the puck like it was nitroglycerin when he had it on his stick, which wasn't often. He could skate though.

People forget Luc Aquino. Even Todd Said Luc was faster end to end that Todd himself. Jamie Thompson could also fly.

Seems like the seniors aren’t having particularly strong seasons. Does it seem likely we will see Breen, Houle, and Ostman return for a 5th year?

I'm sure you guys have seen this one before but:

Crazy how physical things were after the play and Kariya getting pounded like Josh Nadeau this year

I've watched that entire game multiple times. Always gives me a lift.

The first time was a live watch in '93. My date that night was someone I'd met just a few weeks earlier. She'd never seen a hockey game before, and instantly turned into a Maine fan. We ended up travelling to a ton of road games after that, for nearly 30 years.

Thank goodness for that cross-bar, BTW.
