Yeah, in the early 1900’s. When a large portion of the population couldn’t even vote and politics was a debate between which rich, land owning white dudes should have power.

It’s one thing to convince a few hundred thousand middle class businessmen to unite, getting one hundred million is a bit more challenging.
 
Yeah we should be more like Europe! Say which group if whiny French workers are on strike this hour? ;^) Has England figured out Brexit yet? :^p. How are those Russia sanctions holding up?

Oh. I was thinking more like Iceland. Or Estonia. Or Finland. Or Denmark. Or Sweden.

Can we try it their way first? They seem like they have competent leadership...

I was referring to the current leadership of those countries.

Sweden's PM took over after the initial failure of their national COVID response.
 
I know I am just having fun because people seem to think Europe is this Utopia and I like to poke holes in it because good lord it isnt even close. There is plenty I love about what they do and how they do it and just as much that I am glad we have none of. The real problem is if we overnight started adopting European ideals and procedures it will get ugly. You need to phase that stuff in and not just because half this country is too stupid to know what Socialism really is.

I mean I voted for Bernie twice I am not the Centrist Kepler thinks I am ;^) Unlike a lot of his supporters though I also understand why the country isn't ready for him yet.

There are solutions to many of the problems that block true progress, but no one wants to hear them and few have the balls to even say them.
 
I dunno man, I’ve lived in multiple countries for 1+ years each and it wasn’t too shabby .

other than British food, weather, people, etc…

there’s a pecking order and some countries are def better than others over there
 
At this point, I dont know that there is any place where I wont have the same fears I do here. Standard of living only matters so much if the world is burning around you and the stupids are able to make policy and sadly those are universal truths. Plus, despite my lineage, I don't want to be that close to Russia ;^)

Maybe Costa Rica...they seem to get it.
 
I think you missed my (maybe waaaaaaay to) subtle hint that good looking females are in charge of those countries, and maybe we oughta give that a try instead of these octogenarians..
