The GQP Thread: I'm even sick of that fuck's number and, anyway, he's gone (for now)

All the freaks today are saying she’s not credible. A maga person I know texted me to tell me the dems are sunk, having to resort to her lies.

yes I’m sure she’s making this all up. Everyone is free to lie on the stand with no punishment

While I can’t claim to have ever seen or heard of Cassidy Hutchinson before yesterday, when I read in the news that she’s only 26yo, it makes me think the stress of her experience and agonizing over whether or not to be fully truthful with the committee appears to have aged her considerably. I’m leaning towards her being a believable witness should this whole affair ever go to trial.

There certainly was something going on in the back seat of that presidential SUV.

It amazed me how fast the GQP and their water carriers rushed to Twitter to post infographics proclaiming that "The Beast" isn't designed for Trump to sit behind the driver, so she must be lying.

... only to ignore the FUCKING video evidence of an SUV being used to leave the J6 rally and Trump can be seen sitting in the goddammed second row within arms reach of the driver.

Again, republicans and their enablers are allergic to reality.

Is it or is it not her handwriting?

It should be easy to show either way and a lot of credibility is riding on that answer.

Wrong. Each charge is independently collaborated or not. Even if she was the (second, obviously) biggest liar in the world, her accusations could be truth. I assume the Dumpies and their Useful Idiots (ahem) will try to find a comma out of place and then announce ALL FAKE!!!11!1 but no dice, son. Logic still demands we look at each statement, any one of which should land him in prison for life.

You have to be right every time; we only have to be right once.

That "throw it all at the wall, something will stick" approach is batting 0 for 6 years.

Or is the tactic merely to keep Trump constantly on defense.

All of the charges from the impeachments were correct, all of the Mueller report findings were correct. The only reason why Dumpy isn't in the pen already is GOP traitors.

It's not lack of proof of criminality that has kept him out, it's lack of patriotism and decency from the Reich.

SicTroll says since there wasn't any manila envelope, that you're wrong.

I'd also argue that Mueller half-assed his part in all of it.

So on one hand we have a young girl who's testifying under oath to things.

On the other hand we have a known liar and a bunch of anonymous people saying things not under oath.

Hmmmmm. Who... to... believe...

If people want to contradict her, go on record and dispute her statements under oath.

I'd also argue that Mueller half-assed his part in all of it.

He was The Last Gentleman, but he picked a helluva time to play that role. He laid it all out and said "it's the job of Congress to act." But Congress has traitors.

Mueller did his job to the letter of the law, and I guess it's refreshing to see that. But we are fighting Nazis. They are entitled to nothing beyond the letter of the law. The onus has shifted. They are an existential threat to our nation and because of our power to life on our planet.

Mueller also let Bill Barr lie about the findings in the report before he officially released it and never really publicly contradicted what he said. Mueller was feckless. He did his job, but he made sure to pass the buck and water it down as much as possible before doing so. No one has any allusions about what party he supported then and still does.

Put them all under oath at this point...

Even if it doesn't go anywhere, a shot across the bow is needed...

Even under oath the DERPS won't believe anything that contradicts their preconceived story anyways...

This is essentially what I was thinking of when I said he half-assed it.

A glimmer?

Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson on Friday said he would not back former President Donald Trump in 2024 after the J6 Committee hearings had revealed him to be a "threat to our democracy."

Appearing on CBS News, Hutchinson was asked about Rep. Liz Cheney's (R-WY) remarks this week in which she called Trump a "domestic threat" to the nation.

Hutchinson gave Cheney's assessment a full-throated endorsement.

"As you can see from the testimony on January 6th and subsequent to the election, where he was challenging the legality of it, the lawful transfer of party, yes, that was a threat to our democracy," he said. "That was a threat to our institutions of government, and that's not the behavior we want to see in a responsible president."

I don't know whether Hutchison was anti-Dump before, or whether this indicates the tea leaves now support turning on the fat old fuck.
