POTUS 46.10: A New Hope

Biden’s student loan forgiveness is being challenged in court by a handful of states led by Republicans.* From the little I’ve read on the case, and the even littler I know about law, suits like this are either a) tossed on account of the plaintiff not having standing, and/or b) States have lost before when challenging lost revenues in court. But, that doesn’t take into account c) The Supreme Court is made up of Republicans hellbent on destroying democracy, with no anchor to stare decisis, so if it makes to the Supreme Court, one poster on here will likely say that Biden was baited.

*I know there’s two other challenges as well, but again, from the little I’ve read, of any of the three with the best chance at even achieving standing, it’s this one, since a judge could overlook imperfect standing to use the case to overrule Biden’s broad powers he used as a result of the extraordinary circumstances of the pandemic created by some law called the HEROES Act created entirely too recently for Alito et al. in 2003.

Of course. It's illegal if it's for the poor. I'm surprised the constitutionality of Social Security isn't making it's way through the Courts.

Let individual states opt out. I want Democratic candidates to go on the hustings saying "as long as the GOP keeps power in this state you will never have loan forgiveness."

This is our exact analogy to the Republican tax cut Santa Claus.

Please do not quote the derp.

The Right voted for a party which for fifty years has been singularly devoted to destroying the lives of everyone below the 99.9th percentile. Every story posted about how things are hard is a direct testament to how much damage they have done and why they can never be permitted into power as long as they have their ideology.

Brandon with the federal marijauna pardons!

https://twitter.com/POTUS/status/1578097875480895489

And boom goes the dynamite!

edit: holy crap this is quite an action! Pardoning simple possession cases to active and in the past to help people get employment or housing. Asks governors to do the same! Plus a full on review of how Weed is classified since it is seen as being on the same level as heroin under current law.

Brandon isnt playing!

The Right Wingers are gonna be mad...this is totally overshadowing that Hunter Biden is likely getting arrested soon. :^0

And the memes have already started! Now he is "Dank Brandon"!

Sounds like Fetterman had quite the talk with DB about this when he was in Pittsburgh.

Funny how people who openly drink booze are attacking Brandon over this. Not that having hope for the 40% is normal, but holy shit has the last hour been depressing in this regard.

Let them whine...half of them use pot anyways they just knew they would never get in trouble for it.

Having them look into rescheduling is a huge deal and yet it is barely a footnote in the announcement because the pardons are such a huge deal. If it gets rescheduled then legalization is a lock which leads to federal taxes and other positive factors.

Personally I hope Walz comes out tomorrow and says he will follow the President's lead...hell any Blue Governor in a purple or Blue State should. This is an easy victory.

The war on pot was purely about criminalizing being a liberal. If you were the right political persuasion you were treated lightly or simply catch and release. If you voted wrong, ACAB beat you up and then the DA took one more vote against him off the rolls.

It was purely political from the moment it began and we were fools to tolerate it.

Or, if you’re in red state like Alaska, pressure the Republican Governor to do the same and have the Democratic candidates promise the same if elected.

I am surprised Alaska wasn't well out in front on decriminalization, legalization, pardons, etc.

You guys had One Job as the Last Frontier libertarian state.

Kinda upset with you on LGBTQ, too, but I guess you have a pretty high dosage of Fucktard Jesus.

Look up Anchorage Baptist Temple and Jerry Prevo. Absolute pox on this state.
