So the GOP forced the reading, then had no one willing to take the night shift, so when it finally ended around 2am there was no one to object and extend the debate.

They also extended it out two more months to October rather than ending it in August.

They also made the first $10,200 non-taxable.

That would have been helpful in earlier rounds...

You have to love the hypocrisy of a party that goes on TV and screams for the schools to opened while they are blocking the relief plan that will in fact help re-open the schools.

Causing pain is the point.

The Republicans are a party of sadists. We will never be safe until they are out of office, everywhere.

More hypocrisy.

President Biden's pick to serve as undersecretary of defense for policy at the Pentagon may be in jeopardy after controversial tweets targeting Republicans emerged, after a similar scenario helped sink another Cabinet nominee earlier this week. Several Republican senators forced Colin Kahl to answer for his past tweets during his confirmation hearing before the Armed Services Committee on Thursday, including one in which he said Republicans who supported former president Donald Trump's decision to withdraw troops from Syria "debase themselves at the alter of Trump" and are "the party of ethnic cleansing."

Can we just put all the plutes in Texas and Florida? Remove both states from the Union. Add back D.C. and Puerto Rico. Hey, 50 States, problem solved. And all the idiots are gone.

8 Dems voted against the $15/hr amendment.

Two were Sinema and Manchin. Expected.

One was Tester from MT, another was King from Maine. And then both senators from NH and Delaware.

I was told they had that all covered. Shifts allocated and everything.

Who knew that rich sociopaths wouldn't want to put the work in if it meant they had to be up at 3am.

I kind of understand Tester's objection since that's a pretty red state and... whatever. Butw hat the fuck are King, Shaheen, Hassan, Carper, and Coons doing?

What would be the point of voting for it? It can't be part of the bill in Reconciliation anyways. It is stupid grandstanding that does nothing but put Senators on the spot.

They have cover since it can't pass and wouldn't pass and can now argue they aren't hardlined like the Trumpers are. Honestly I support the $15 and if I had an election coming up (and I wasnt a lock) I probably consider voting against it too. It doesn't belong in the package and the Parliamentarian nuked it anyways. Biden is against overruling so this is all just stupid...

Pass the bill without it and get this going. Stop stalling over the minimum wage.

I'm dumb. Ignore my post.

You keep saying stuff like this and we keep telling you how wrong you are.

Like I’ve said before: troll, or moron. I thought moron at first, but now I’m leaning towards troll. Either way, I look forward to reading this website after work to see what stupid shit he comes up with next, along with Jeb2020. His stuff makes me laugh, and his critiques of posters on this board are sometimes spot-on, unlike everything else he posts.
As for the vote, not surprising. Shaheen makes the least sense to me, but I just read an article in some Boston newspaper where she explained her rationale, along with Hassan explaining hers. I think if Sununu challenges Hassan, it’ll be the closest Senate race of 2022, save maybe Pa or Wi. New Hampshire is swingy and purple.

Little by little, we muddle through, despite the terrorism of the Nazis.

This will be a step forward. It's not everything, but it's governance, which is compromise. The Republicans did everything in their power to rip up the tracks so we couldn't get help to people, but they failed. Fuck them and their apologists.

We can only move by inches because one major party is completely owned by Plute scumbags who don't care about anyone but themselves, and hoodwinked spiteful, racist morons who will suffer as long as others suffer more.

It's a miracle we can pass anything in a country in which the worst among us have so much power, but we can and will. And every day demographically these stupid fucks are dying. These days, funnily enough, by their own hand.
