Reaves is a real POS. He shouldn’t have been playing tonight after what he did to Suter but got the intent to injure tonight after a chauvin like knee to the neck

US secures a spot in the playoff round with a 2-0 win over Germany.

Kazakhstan can also lock up a spot if they hold on in regulation against Norway today. If they do that, Canada would need to win in regulation against Finland tomorrow and hope Latvia/Germany goes to OT to advance.

Group A is such a crapshoot it’s hard to figure who will be the opponent in the quarterfinals. Hopefully the scoring picks up but the defense is doing good.

So the Leafs didn't advance. I know, it's a shock- nobody expected this to happen...

Seems that they need to clean house- how many more coaches do they need to go through until they realize that the problem comes from someplace else?

For a team to score their first goal over 48 min into the game, their "high powered offence" seems pretty easy to figure out.

So the playoffs are set now as follows:

Semifinals:
4. North Winner (WPG-MTL) vs. 1. West Winner (COL-VEG) (West Winner with Home Ice Advantage)
3. East Winner (BOS-NYI) vs. 2. Central Winner (TB-CAR) (Central Winner with Home Ice Advantage)

Still have to work out the travel to Canada thing- there would have to be a waiver for the 14 day waiting period.

Great game in Boston- so back and forth leading to a breakaway GW in OT for New York.

The OT was crazy- both team had SO much time on offense, either team could have won it via some very tired legs.

Finland beat Canada in a shootout this morning, which means the US can win Group A with a regulation win against Italy.

By taking a point, Canada has eliminated Kazakhstan. But, Canada now needs a regulation result between Germany-Latvia. If it goes to OT, both teams have the tiebreaker over Canada.

Barring a Belarus over ROC upset, the US looks to be facing either Slovakia or the Czechs in the quarterfinals.

US beats Italy, tops Group B, will face Slovakia.

Germany bails out Canada by beating Latvia. Canada faces Not Russia in the quarterfinals.

Could the Czechs and Slovaks meet in the final or does the bracket not work?

It looks like they could. With the semifinals being reseeded, you'd need both of them to win (Slovakia over USA, Czechia over Finland):

Then either an ROC win over Canada, or a Canada win over ROC and Germany over Switzerland.
