I have said it before...America should pay Mexico to take back Texas. It will be costly, but dollar for dollar it will be as strong a plan as the Louisiana Purchase ;^)

But I quickly realized that no, I wouldn't want my bully neighbor moving the fence along my property line closer to my house just because he wants a bigger backyard. That my backyard dammit, not his. I'd be just as upset if said neighbor was encroaching on another neighbor instead of me. And no, I wouldn't be friendly with said neighbor if he was moving fences.

So the Russians banned about 1,000 Americans from visiting, including Biden, Harris most politicians, dead people and Morgan Freeman whose only connection that could be thought of is that he was a CIA head in a movie based on a Clancy book that almost nuked Russia. However, Mitch, Rand and Donald were not banned.

That's on brand. In International Realism, you trade the rights of powerless nations to insulate powerful nations from inconvenience. So, you oppose Finland joining NATO for fear of alienating Russia. In Liberalism, you trade the rights of powerless people to insulate powerful people from inconvenience. So, you oppose BLM for fear of alienating Middle America.

To his credit, Kissinger is not a hypocrite. He never pretended he was anything else -- his hero is Metternich. And he does say the difference is in the latter case the worst you risk is internal social upheaval, whereas in the former you risk nuclear annihilation. There is something to that.
