It is not smart to be this drunk this early in the day...

If reddit is "intellectual" then this world is well and goodly fucked. No social media is anything but a bunch of whiny people whining together. reddit is the Joe Rogan of social media. Facebook is the Donald Trump of social media and Twitter is the place people go to ratio everyone even if they have no idea what said person did or said.

But hey, if you want to launder some money or buy some NFTs reddit is a great source!

That is pretty much true of anything...hell I bet you can even find threads of 4Chan that weren't racist Qucumber factories. ;^)

Most SM is good for very basic info and funny memes. The more focused the better, and the smaller the audience the better. A subreddit on a specific type of item or action is alright.

There is a reason why almost all of the crypto scams start with a thread on reddit...

The neckbeard subs are some of the funniest on the site. There are definitely subs for which it is absolutely impossible to tell if they are parody.

Because that's just objectively false. You haven't found it because it's not cultivated for users like Reddit in their subs. You have to seek out the communities. THey don't self-sort like Reddit.

Russian reinforcements continuing the drive southeast from Izyum toward Slovyansk are from elements of 1st Guards Tank Army units that had been in the Kharkiv-Sumy area. Russian units that retreated from Kyiv will not likely regain combat effectiveness for some time, and it is not clear that the Russians intend to return them to the fight soon. That said, an unconfirmed Ukrainian military intelligence report suggests that Moscow could soon send the 64th Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 35th Combined Arms Army, a unit that reportedly committed war crimes in Bucha, into the fight in eastern Ukraine in the hopes that guilty members of that brigade and witnesses of its war crimes are killed in combat with Ukrainian forces.

Senate revives Lend-Lease for Ukraine.

The Ukraine Democracy Defense Lend-Lease Act of 2022, as it’s known, would expedite the transfer of critical military equipment and other critical supplies to Ukraine by cutting bureaucratic red tape. It allows for the de facto gifting of equipment, with provisions stipulating that recipient countries would repay the U.S. at a later date.

Senators quickly endorsed this proposal, as Ukraine’s military proved it could fend off Russian troops who have been shelling Ukrainian cities and towns since late February. The Lend-Lease program created during World War II was seen as a game-changer in the conflict, as it allowed the U.S. to quickly resupply the Allies without time-consuming procedural hurdles.

According to Politico, it is yet another sign that the U.S. and its allies in Europe believe Russia’s invasion presents an existential threat to liberal order. It’s also an indication that the Western world believes Ukraine can now win the fight against the Russian invaders.

It’s unclear if the House will take up the Senate-passed Lend-Lease legislation before both chambers leave Washington on Thursday for a previously scheduled two-week recess. The House is expected to pass the Russia trade bill after it clears the Senate on Thursday morning.

Just saw a brief report about the new russian sanctions- and some of the more amusing reactions.

Like Chanel is refusing to sell products to russians unless they confirm the use will not be in russia. In reaction, some of their customers are posting videos of the cutting up their Chanel products. Yes, they are destroying products they already paid for and own. A brief look at prices of these handbags, they are not cheap- some as expensive as $10,000. These really clever russian "protesters" are destroying their $10,000 bags, as if that hurts Chanel.

I'd love to see more of that- maybe we can see russians burn some of their own cars from companies who have pulled out.

Really- go for it, destroy all of the west products you've already paid for. The companies will certainly keep the money.

Morning joe had on a former state dept official who told a tale of a briefing by an intelligence officers who shared when Russians travel they are shocked that the locals don’t speak Russian. They are trained back home to think Russian is widespread and a global language :’j

30 years ago, countries had 2 choices to join.... So speak either one. And given the travel restrictions, it makes sense.

Funny side note, a few years ago, we visited Havana, and our tour guide was expanding his business to Americans after catering toward russians for most of the time. So many Cubans do speak russian.

DER SPIEGEL has learned that the BND has new satellite images and has intercepted incriminating radio traffic from Russian military personnel in the region north of Kyiv, where Bucha is located. Some of the intercepted radio traffic could be linked to dead bodies that have been photographed in Bucha.
