Yeah, thr crematoriums are saying they've processed 100-150 bodies on days the government reported 30-40 deaths from that area. (Made up numbers, but the ratios are right.)

India's like Brazil (or Florida): most of their deaths are own goal because they have a combination of backwards religious people and a Dumpy RWA government.

I think this is more of a data tracking/matching issue than people not getting shots. I’m sure some people didn’t, but nowhere near that many.

So you think they were scared by the reported possible side effects? I could see that happening. My wife was exceptionally nervous in the lead up to her second shot, but ultimately got it.

My first day after Pfizer was yesterday, and I took the mountain bike out for 18 miles, including a 1/2-3/4 mile climb that probably averaged 12% gradient.

Other than the numbness in the heel of my foot that I don't think is related, no issues whatsoever. Today, other than tired legs and the foot numbness, no issues.

I had the brain fog and malaise for a week after Moderna #2. I can't imagine the folks that get chronic fog from actual disease.

My town leads our County in cases and in the last week lead the whole State in %positive. I live in Neanderthal-Dumpland. People are complaining about and at folks who are posting stats for the town. No commentary. Just stats. They are fearmongers, exaggerating risk- if no one knew these things we would all realize we should be living life like normal. Dam those facts. They ruin a perfectly good delusion that things are all a hoax.

There's a zillion reasons, some of them even legitimate.

• reporting delays
• catching covid after first shot
• Any health emergency or non-emergency after first shot that would delay 2nd shot
• Canceled appointment by vaccinator
• adverse reaction to 1st

I think that 100% is fantasy - that doesn't happen on any existing multi-dose vaccine (of which there are many). 92% is probably lower than we'd hope but considering the current chaos, not surprising. This article just seemed extra click-baitey.

Thank Parise the young appear to be less vulnerable to this virus, so they will suffer less for the sins of their science-denying parents. Were it not for the innocents (incompetent due to age or disease mostly), I'd be just fine with watching the deniers rid the world of themselves.

92% is outstanding. That’s a fucking A in school, and we know 92% of Americans weren’t getting A’s even in grade school. I think I read somewhere that health officials were hoping for 80% or more to successfully follow up.

I'm 43 and I'm feeling much better this morning, but yesterday was pretty sucky. Mostly just very achy, so it's not like it was anything horrible but I would have rather skipped that part. My wife felt pretty much nothing, neither of my parents felt anything.

I’m just some random guy on a message board, and as a general rule you probably shouldn’t listen to anything I say, but I do want to encourage folks to send money to India right now. They are seriously hurting and anything you can send them helps. It’s hard for Americans to send money but if you talk to an Indian you know and trust they can help facilitate a donation.

Based on how I read the article, that's now what I saw- I saw that masks and distancing are useless, in theory. As I read it, it would be easy to take that study, and proclaim that everything should be opened up- as that was actually pointed out- there's been a big economic impact of closing/distancing/masks.

Maybe I read it wrong, but I'm not ready to give up on those effective tools at this point.

A science nerd friend of mine does some freelance writing and came across some new information about why this coronavirus is so deadly, and has been trying to sell an article on it (she's great at taking her PhD science brain and making things readable and interesting to the non-PhD) but her paraphrase of and e-mail "We're only taking non-COVID stories from freelancers since we have staff writers on COVID". Someone commented asking where they could find more info on why it's so deadly...the answer only the source paper exists.

Well according to my gf's mom according to records she only got one shot even though she got both weeks ago. She did get #2 at a different spot than #1 so that is likely the reason.

Your friend should write it out on a personal blog and put it on SM. (with any and all needed warnings and caveats) A lot of people who weren't getting heard or drowned out either by the Trumpies or the MSM did that and it definitely helped.
