Restaurants at part capacity is so dumb. You eat with your masks off. Either fully close or fully open. It also lends credence to later outbreaks being variant driven vs what the state restrictions are.

my fave restaurant has been open the entire pandemic but take out only- and I’m confident that helps protect staff, limiting the time spent inside.

im going to a restaurant tonight, but sitting outside.

It's because cigarette smoke is an aerosol just like COVID. It can hang in the air for hours and can spread to an entire room just with natural air currents.

Now imagine that there's a smoker sitting in a restaurant with you and they chain smoke for an hour. You're still going to get throughly exposed over long enough time.

The point is, masks and limiting time are the most important factors. Not distance. Distance becomes useless as t gets larger.

Yep. And restaurants with dividers are even dumber. Apparently COVID cant travel up?

The second you pull your mask down the risk gets higher. Distance is not the key in an enclosed place.

Well sure, but anyone with half a brain shouldn't be eating out now anyway. My feeling is, if you are, and you got sick, there's no one to blame but you. Its not like this is some big secret.

Day after the second shot, and no issues. I do have some numbness in my right foot, from the arch back to the heel, like it's fallen asleep or something, but I think that's more to do with the issues I was having with my crap knee yesterday. Pinched nerve, or something.

The conclusion isn't pack restaurants, the conclusion is no restaurants until we've gotten this under control

Based on how I read the article, that's now what I saw- I saw that masks and distancing are useless, in theory. As I read it, it would be easy to take that study, and proclaim that everything should be opened up- as that was actually pointed out- there's been a big economic impact of closing/distancing/masks.

Maybe I read it wrong, but I'm not ready to give up on those effective tools at this point.

As for the cigarettes- yes, they are both aerosols- and both disperse over distance. So the exposure to second hand smoke is more concentrated at 6 ft than it is at 60, which is worse WRT second hand smoke. Just like covid disperses over distance, so the exposure at 6 ft is more concentrated than it is at 60 ft- so the odds are far greater that you will get enough exposure to get infected. That's where the whole 6ft even came from- far enough away to reduce the exposure enough to avoid an infecting dose.

The virus may go over, based on air flow, sure. But it is heavier than air as well.

Why can’t Lord Fauci figure out if the vaccinated can still spread the cold virus? Gotta keep the charade and theatre going I suppose.

They can figure out everything else about the Magical Vaccine but this one thing?

#Covidzombies what a pathetic existence.

It is under control, death rates and hospitalizations are at completely normal levels.

What isn’t normal is hypochondriacs with tones of mental illness who live a virtual existence and have zero awareness of the real world.

Stay at home if you can’t figure it out.

You want me to wear a mask to protect your health? Do you also want me to jog to help you lose weight too?

Masks don’t work, not even a little. Not to mention masking in the general public is the practice of awful hygiene.

Covid is not a religion. Figure it out adult children.

ive been saying this and using the cigarette example for months.

I want coauthorship

I’m sure it’s more on the journalists than the scientists, but the way that reads is:

”Sunscreen doesn’t help you on Pluto or on Saturn, so it won’t help you on Earth.”

just because masks are equally effective at 6 or 60 feet does not demonstrate that they’re ineffective at shorter distances.

Day after Pfizer #2, low fever and a bit achy but nothing bad.

That study seems to have only been looking at aerosols and ignored droplets with the assumption that masks block droplets so no need to worry about them. So assuming strict mask adherence it makes sense. Except for the part where they assume strict mask adherence...
