Add to that, Pelosi's letter's second line was "It was anointed at the highest level of government."

That's a helluva line.

Either that or the DoD is straight up not listening to Trump (and potentially SecDef).

That's not an option. This wasn't an unlawful order, this was taking orders from someone outside the normal chain of command. This is an incredible departure from the normal procedures, even during extraordinary times.

people need to get real WRT Pence, he is not gonna come to anyone's rescue as far as the 25th Amendment goes. And trump has so many knob gobblers in his cabinet now, some of them every bit as fascist and authoritarian as trump himself, there is no way they will buy into it. And there is no way half of the republicans in the senate would vote to convict in the case of a quicky impeachment.

And at the end of the day everyone needs to realize that the vast majority of the 74 million who voted for trump are also somewhat deranged too. This country isn't in the 5h!tty way it is because we have a bad president or a couple of bad politicians.

Something I hadn't thought about that was just mentioned: most congresspeople and staffers have been packed in rooms this whole time, perfect for a super spreader event.

A literal textbook example of felony murder in criminal law is when a bystander gets killed by police during the course of a crime (typically a bank robbery). The followup is when an accomplice gets killed by police.

So would they have to go after people who organized the rally like they did in Charlottesville, then tie that to the shooting? I assume they can’t just randomly select a rioter?

People tend to change their opinions when looking down the barrel of a gun.

They can pick anyone and everyone who committed a felony during which the person died.

Last night I finally felt good being American after many years of not. And that feeling was gone in less than 12 hours.

Something else today is teaching us for future reference, we know that outside of one exception, riots can be dispersed fairly peacefully by the police if they don't escalate the violence and let them die down of their own accord. I'm sure the next Black Lives Matter protest will surely benefit for them learning new, peaceful tactics.
