At the moment this is protest. It's not violence. It's civil disobedience. They should be arrested -- it's exactly the same as Minneapolis. Criminal offenses will get criminal penalties. But there is no way LEO should initiate violence.

It's not like these guys have guns. If they had guns, yes, it would be different. But these are (1) fellow Americans (2) engaging in civil disobedience which appears to be non-violent and (3) exercising explicitly political speech. At this moment we should do absolutely nothing violent or provocative. That is how tragedies happen.
Obviously these guys are idiots and their protest is a delusion. But that's not enough for state violence.
Evacuate. Let it calm down. DC's weather will do the rest.
